They are a bit tough to find, but they are in stock with Alembic. I buy strings by the case, which allows me to go long periods between purchases. Those are fairly rare but GC used to sell them in the 90s and there was something magical about them.

clicked on the thread to answer "A because punx" but apparently misunderstood the thread
I keep wanting to try them, but I chicken out every time I'm about to pull the trigger.TI jazz rounds. After years of playing them exclusively, I can't play anything else.
Elixir nano nickels. Because I haven't found anything better. But, I keep searchinSince a lot of string threads tend to turn into folks sharing their favorites, I thought I would start a thread where that is the express purpose of the thread. That, and I know with COVID that some of you have mentioned you have tried some new stuff in your off time, and so perhaps your preferences have changed. Also, I realize this has been done before, but I haven't seen it recently so just thought I would start it again.
For the most part, my favorite all-arounder has been Daddario nickel XLs. They are not necessarily the best at everything, but for me, they have been adequate for most things, are very consistent and tend to wear well. Given that, though, I am currently back with some flats and trying the GHS Precisions, the 95's. What about you, what is your favorite all arounder? If it is more than one, that's cool too - please, if you could, briefly share why. Thanks for indulging me on a slow day.![]()
DR SUNBEAMS. They play great, they sound great for any style. Broken in, they get very warm but still retain snap when you need it.Since a lot of string threads tend to turn into folks sharing their favorites, I thought I would start a thread where that is the express purpose of the thread. These, yep, these right here....Elixir Nanoweb 45-130. The sound is good, maybe not phenomenal, but it’s the best feeling B string I’ve ever played. Definition+++.
