Go older chorus. The MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe sounds great and has smart features, like the tone controls, flanger mode and the crossover option.

Analogman Chorus is my favourite pedal chorus. I also like the different chorus options in the Quad Cortex.

I currently use a Boss CH-1, but I've been jonesing after a DC-2w for years. I usually layer my CH-1 with a BF-3 Flanger to get a deeper modulation with a bit of a better low end.

When trying it, I really enjoyed waterfall.
I get my chorus-y sounds from Pbf flanger and/or shallow water.
They do well too

I bought an HX One and it has a ton of great chorus sounds in it. The dimensions and standard chorus sounds are fantastic in it.

One of my boyhood heroes in my hometown bands played one of these where he'd leave it on but rout it through a BOSS momentary switch to only tag certain notes.

Maybe dated by today's standards, but I still remember the lush depth these things had.

Honorable mention goes to Southampton Utility Knife for ease of use and multiple featured modulation modes. Like the Analogman better for adjustability, but if you want something easy to dial in, UK does it.
