What is your least played bass?

My Squier VM Fretless. I love fretless and want to play it more, but, I play keys too and sing alot of backup, so I would need to really play it alot to get the intonation straight at gigs

What is your least played bass?
least played:
- not because it's red.
- not because it's a P-bass.
- not because it's passive.
.....because it's my "warm up" ax --- meant to punish my hands and fingers (the neck is fatter than all the rest!) so that any other ax i own/play feels wonderful by comparison! it's so much fun, i play it on purpose! i love this ax --- but it's the "least played" --- a few hours every few weeks.....although looking at it = makes me want to play it more

LOL, great perspective. Now I'll never get rid of another bass. I'm gassing to find the crappiest sounding bass so that my other basses seem great.

What is your least played bass and why?
Mine is my 2006 Fender MIA 60th Anniversary P Bass. I love this bass and it sounds and plays excellent but for some reason a P Bass is just not what I gravitate to. I have bought and sold so many P's but as soon as I get rid of one, within a month or two I feel like I need one in my stable. I do grab it from time to time but I am least inspired by it I guess. Not sure why because like I said is sounds so good.

I only have two, my main bass is a Fender PB 4 string. My other is a Warwick Corvette STD 5 string. Currently I'm not playing a lot of music that calls for notes below E. That is not to say that I don't like the sound of the other 4 strings of the Warwick.

My Tagima Woodstock Series J. I like it. I actually sold it and then bought it back, so I do like it, but it's usually not the sound I'm looking for lately. It's at my band's practice space, so I play it, but it doesn't have the low-end density of my Fernandes PJ or my 32" Greco double humbucker, and it's seldom the one I pick up when I'm at home. It sounds and plays great, but I haven't found a sonic niche for it other than as an inexpensive bass that I can leave places.

Toss up. Fretless MTD Z5 or knock-off Beatle bass. Both are fun to play, but they rarely leave the house with me.

At the moment, probably my unlined Stingray 4 fretless w/ Nordstrand pups and pre. I'm barely playing much music as it is, and what I'm playing doesn't really warrant a fretless. Brilliant instrument though.

The messed up thing is that I've been GASsing for a 5-string fretless for ages.

As of today, my Steinberger L2 is my least used. My NS Radius CR5 has taken it's place on gigs.

It sounds and looks great.
It's just heavy.
I think it's just south of a 100 lbs.

My refinish/upgrade project squier vm jaguar. I love the color, love the look, but, don't love the tone as much as my other basses. Plus the clear coat job I did wasn't too great so up close you can see all the flaws haha. I'm thinking that maybe some better pickups will help, but, that costs money. Still is a fun bass tho

My Squier Musicmaster. The neck is great and the pickup is great, it's just the heaviest of my basses. Old shoulder knows the difference.

A medium-scale Fender Precision Shaped Object bought from a Japanese site on e-bay. I played it for 10 minutes and knew I was not gonna be bonding with it anytime soon. So I sold it. I'm now down to two basses, one a Lakland USA Jazz, the other an old Peavey Fury. One goes on the big gigs, the other on the small ones.

My Lakland 55-02....it's a 2004 MIK and it is amazing, but it's my only 5'er, and I gravitate towards my passive 4 strings because they're easier for me to play...and I can leave them plugged in. Side bar: if I leave my 55-02 plugged in but in passive mode, will it still drain the battery? Anyway, that's my story.

I would say my least played is my MM SR, '95 or '96...just too active hot and sizzly for me for the last, oh 8, 9 years (it was my main squeeze for quite a while). It might be a tie with my Epiphone T-Bird, though I did bust that out for a Black Crowes tribute not that long ago. OK, pic...what do I have...a couple from The Cured:

My Cruise VMI p bass. It was the first bass I ever played. I've kept it around. It plays really well and sounds good, but I play my Warmoth 5 and my Spector NS Pulse a lot more. The spector is the most "professional" bass I own so I end up using it a lot.

My Gibson Thunderbird doesn't get played much, but I do really like it. I gig a fair amount and my old P-basses are my go to because I am so comfortable playing them and they just sound right.
