What kind of straplocks do you use?

I have a super comfy and nicely worn in leather strap I bought at least 30 years ago, could be closer to 35 years. The strap holes are pretty worn, so I use these Fender rubber washers to secure the strap. Works great.
I use the Dunlop flush mount system because i think the bass looks cool without strap pins.

Dunlaps. Two of my basses came from the maker supporting this system, so I use it on all of my actives.
I have not upgraded the passive ones yet, and use the runner washers, but they crack and wear out pretty fast. The old Grolsch bottle gaskets are better - tighter and more durable. But they now seem hard to find.

I spent so much money and effort changing out stock strap buttons for Schaller strap locks for years. They worked great. No complaints. But at some point a couple years ago I decided I wanted everything to be as stock or period correct (for my builds) as possible and swapped everything back and just use the rubber rings now. They work fine for me. That reminds me I've got a ton of strap locks I should post up for sale.

Rubber washers.
I’ve used schaller and Dunlop and both have points of failure. One of which is usually having to use the supplied strap button screw which doesn’t grip the wood as well as the original screw. This kept of working loose on my Attitude bass. I’ve also had the strap attachment fall apart.
I figured I have a dedicated strap for each bass, so why am I attaching and removing the straps e every time I play them? So I replaced the original buttons and screws and added some rubber washers and they’ve been rock solid ever since.

Just an Aria bass with big “flying saucer” strap buttons with black fender-branded rubber washers. My bass has wide strap buttons so even those probably aren’t essential but better safe than sorry with a 2000 dollar+ instrument. I saw those rubber washers at a music store & picked them up on a whim since they were cheap thinking I’d eventually want “real” strap locks but I’ve never looked back. Rubber washers for the win. Never using strap locks again.

For Decades now
Makes for easy 20 second bass swaps. Leave wireless transmitter attached, flick the switch off , move the strap to the next axe, plug in the cable, turn transmitter back on.
