What kind of strings do you use?

On my '88 Warwick Thumb Bass N/T EMG's I used Stainless Steel RS66 LH (45-65-85-105).
The reason being that I generally played mainly covers from 50's - 70's mostly, but also prefer classic rock,and I find that the Rotosounds cover a lot of ground tonally. There's something for everyone there. A Jack-Of-All-Trades and master of a few!

Mostly Nickel Rounds. I prefer Fodera Nickels in varying gauges. I do like DR Pure Blues as well. Oh, and Chromes on my Ibanez Aerium.
So far I’ve tried both the lo riders. Good sound, now I’m trying I beams. I’m like every else just looking for the Olala.
I have always used rounds on all my basses, even on the fretless. I like that crispy and percussive sound that they have.
I only tried nickel/steel options (Daddario, Ibanez, Warwick's), but I'm geting curious about getting a black nylon set for my fretless after listening some nice sounding demos.

My thoughts on the sound are that ^^^these are the strings that sound best on those basses.
My Fender Jazz Basses have D’Addarios on them. XTs on the 2019 American Pro and NYXLs on the 2017 American Pro. My Fender American Pro II Precision has D’Addario half rounds. My Mike Lull M5V just got a new set of Labella stainless steel rounds.

GHS Round Core Boomers RC-L3045 (40-55-75-95) on my P-bass. (First time trying the RCBs on my P.)
GHS Pressurewounds L7200 (40-54-76-96) + GHS Progressive 130B on my Yamaha. (Unchanged)
GHS Pressurewounds M7200 (44-62-84-106) on my J-bass, tuned to D-G-C-F. (Unchanged)

Fender P: Fender 9050 45-60-85 with D'Addario Chrome 110. I can't tell the difference between the Fenders and Chrome.
Schecter Studio 4: Rotosound 77 45-65-85-105. Broke a couple tuners. Too much tension with these, or maybe just cheap tuners on this bass.
Right now I prefer the Fender/D'Addario combo over the Rotosounds.

D’addarrio Chromes 45, 65 , 80 , 105 custom gauge set on my Precision .
Dunlop Super Bright nickel rounds 45 , 65 , 85 , 105 on my fretless Jazz bass .

An interesting selection of gauges...
Jason at Fret Nation has a prepackaged custom balanced tension set available. 45-60-80-105 would be more even in tension across all four strings.

Yeah At first I strung up the 45,65,80,100 gauge and the 100 e string just did not work for me with my personal attack and playing style on that bass ( pictured in my avatar ) . So I ordered a single 105 e string from Strings and Beyond and it has worked out fantastic . It is a rock monster with those strings and a semi heavy attack with a pick right below the pickup or a more mellow deep finger style tone above the pickup . Very versatile .
