What kind of strings do you use?

I mostly use the DR High Beams 45-105, I use Ken
Smith Compressors on my Carvin 6 string Fretless.
I use Nylon tape wound of my old 78 P-Bass Fretless, I use to use RS66 Rotosounds, but I met Tony Franklin in 1995 and he turned me on to the DR's. I have a set of Sunbeams on my mij Fretless Jazz.The only Bass I still use the RS66 on is my mim Fretless Jazz w/seymore duncan pickups, I get that Jaco sound. And D'adarrio phospher bronze,wich I use on my ABG's, that's it for my basses. On my Girlfreind I found that the Victoria's secret and Frederick's of Hollywood
"G" string works the best.

I use Ernie Ball Power Slinkys. They really seem powerful and slinkish.

D'Addario Chromes on all my basses (Stingray 4, Stingray fretless, Les Paul Plus, Epi Viola, Precision, Ibanez lawsuit EB2)

I used to have so much trouble with strings breaking on me, until I switched to Elixirs. They are GREAT, and last a VERY LONG time! Haven't broken one yet (knocks on wood of bass).

I love new flats. Big prob. Once they get broken in, I don't like 'em any more. That's about two weeks. I was getting more life out of rounds, and they were cheaper, too!

My first buy for strings were roundwounds, but now that I need to buy more, I've going to considered buying some flats, since I've broken my fingers in and everything.

I use DR Sunbeams on my Warwick thumb BO. Light gauge, awesome tone. Fap fap fap.

The only real downside to them is the fact that I have to special order them, and they usually take 2 weeks to get to guitar center. Their worth it, though.

I use Elites Stadium Series (S/Steel Roundwound) strings from the London Bass Centre on two of my basses (the Cort B5 has 130 105 85 65 45 and the Fender Fretless J-Bass has 90 70 50 30 gauge).

On my Charvel 5, I use Ashdown Billy Bunter S/Steel Rounds at 125 100 80 65 45.

D'Addario XL's on my Fender 4 & 5 string JBasses. DR Fat-Beams on my 'MTD Saratoga.

Will probably try DR's on my Fender 5 next time around.

I use Elites stainless roundwounds. I think you can only get em in the UK, handmade in London. Anyone else (outside UK or otherwise) used 'em? I like them loads, they sound very fresh and zingy.

So far, I like DR HiBeams, Ken Smith SS Taperwounds, LaBella Hard Rockin' Steels. I keep D'Addario XL nickels on my Modulus Q5: that's what came on the bass, and they sound great.

I bought a couple sets of DR MM FatBeams, haven't tried 'em yet. I've tried the DR Sunbeams and nickel LoRiders and didn't care for those as much.

TI Jazz Flats. Used to always use Fender flats in the 70's. Intonation problems make me move to round-wounds. Suffered with "piano-sound" for years, but didn't play too much at that point, so it didn't matter too much.

Playing regularly again. Tried TI Jazz Flats. Love 'em! Piano sound is gone!
