What kind of strings do you use?

Rotosound is the best string I've ever used. I have them on my Peavey T-40 and plan to put them on my Spector N2000. I need more of a half-round on my Yamaha RBX-200 fretless, and my Dean Rhapsody 8-string and Hohner B2V tenor bass need special strings.

I use Tomastik-Infeld Jazz Bass strings on my electric, and D'Addario nickel rounds (piccolo bass gauges) on my 32" acoustic bass guitar. I love the TI's tone on my electric (though, sometimes I wish it had more midrange) but I find my piccolo nickel rounds to be very bright on my acoustic, so unamplified volume isn't an issue but I wish the tone was mellower.

Right now I've got a fresh set of Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky roundwound .105, .85, .65, .45. There new and they're bright as hell.

I just bought new strings for the first time and just strung for the first time. I got ernie ball hybrid slinky. They are 45-105. Roundwound. Incredible. Such a great sound. Without being plugged into the amp they were very loud, snappy, consistent, and had a great overall tone and sound. I highly recommend them. pretty easy on the fingers to.

I have Elixir Nanowebs on right now, but that's subject to change. I kinda miss the tone of my Rotosounds. The Elixir's just stay bright longer and don't get too dirty, but I can't stand how the coating flakes off when I play with a pick. I might just switch back to the Rotosounds or give the GHS Bass Boomers a try.

I've been using Tomastik Infeld: Jazz Bass Flat Wound and Infeld Superalloy for a few years now - love them.

I've found they last longer than any other brand I've tried and the windings are always even.

T.I.'s are really hard to get hold of here in New Zealand so I've been buying them off the web, with no problems regarding price or delivery

I used to use Rotos exclusively - when they were the only game in town - lately been liking the DR Hi Beam an MM 5ers and Dad XL - picked up some Dunlops SS and Nic to try. Haven't encountered any bad or defective strings just different levels of goodness. Saw a poll at mikesgig | Facebook where the Ernie Ball 2832 is number 1 choice - will have to try them next.

new bass player here, but i switched out my stock strings for DR Black Beauties, and so far they feel great on my fingers and I'm liking the look, have nothing else to compare them to but I'm so far I'm a happy camper

I have added Dunlop SS and Ken Smith Taper Core to the mix on my 5-strings and like them both so far. I am still using TI Jazz Flats or DR Hi Beams on my Precisions.

I always used stainless steel roundwounds because I like that crisp sound the most. I use DR Hi-Beams on my 4-string and Rotosound Swings on the 6-string.
