One of the fun parts of being a GOF for me is my getting on stage and playing seems to embarrass my grandchildren.
When I REALLY want to embarrass a kid, I bust some freestyle rhymes in public. Instant mortification.

One of the first times that I didn't get carded buying beer, many years ago, I happened to be with my wife. I told her that the checker thought she was my mom. Didn't go well......
In the 90's a band named Government Cheese haunted the Bowling Green, KY area. Have played with several "associated" musicians in past 20 years.Back in the late 70's and early 80's, as part of a farm subsidy program (iirc), the US government had cheese made and would give it to people. It's a real thing, you can look up the term and find more info, I suspect.

I recognize that. I grew up in a house full of cats and like to tell my pet sitting clients that my mom was the crazy cat lady. Really it was my dad. At one point we had 14 cats living in our home.Cat Whisperer here. This glyph is actually the work of a cat, and roughly translated means, "I hate you, get away from me." I pride myself on interpreting animals thusly - it's a gift!

I call everyone sir and ma’am.
Where and when I grew up, that was considered a sign of respect and not a slight.
I grew up living with my grandfather who was born in 1907 in Mississippi. I reckon that had something to do with that.
When I went to Basic Training, I wound up owing my Drill Sergeant a 1000 pushups because I habitually answered, “Yes, sir” or “No, sir.” In case you were never in the service, Drill Sergeants do not like that, contrary to what you may have seen on TV or in the
movies.
Being grumpy with folks is on you. It has nothing to do with anyone else.
People do what people do. How you react or respond to anyone or anything that happens in your life is totally up to you and on you.
It’s your choice what you do.
Or you can be a victim and just the Tidy Bowl man in the toilet of life, while you attempt to blame everyone that you’re unhappy with for your actions.
My grandfather told me, “Son, it doesn’t cost you a dime to be a gentleman. If you are a gentleman , you will reap a great return in life.”

Now you're just making me want a grilled cheese...
Great thing about this stuff was that it wasn't sliced, so when you wanted a sandwich, you could put this huge hunk of it on there!
Did I mention that I was overweight in the 80s? (who am I kidding, I'm overweight in the 20-teens!)
