What order should I go??

I'm going list the pedals. I'd like to hear some suggestions of chain orders... Thanks in advance.

1. Ibanez DE7 Delay/Echo
2. Boss TR-2 Tremolo
3. Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus (Don't really like this pedal)
4. Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer
5. Boss PH-2 Super Phaser
6. Boss GBB-7 Bass Equalizer
7. Boss TU-2 Tuner
8. Boss RT-20 Rotary Ensemble
9. SansAmp Bass Driver DI

There is a somewhat established way that the signal chain should go - you should do a Google search - it has to do with how your pedals work and work with each other. But here is a start (from a Google search...)

1. Dynamic Range – Compression
2. EQ – Wah Pedal, Equalizer
3. Drive – Overdrive, Distortion, Fuzz
4. Modulation – Phaser, Flanger, Chorus
5. Time-Based – Reverb, Delay

While this is a good start, experimentation is STRONGLY recommended. I also think it's fun, but I'm weird like that.

For instance, I would run my compressor at the end to tame pedals that are too loud to begin with. Also I'd put my EQ right after that to make up for anything that the compressor will take out. I like dirt before wah pedals because I think it makes them a little more funky. I also prefer my delay before modulation but reverb after. As you can see this is quite different than the above.

Just remember there is no wrong way to do it.

What of these do you use most? I'd start with arranging those first (say 3 or so) and slowly add one in at a time until you like what you have. Keep in mind you'll be flip flopping a lot of cables and such.

Thanks. I didn't even know you could search that out:hiding:

I'm going to try this first....

I'll try this next... I like the comp last idea.

Good luck! Before I went the way of the Line 6 M9, I used to experiment and play a lot with the individual stomps. I got lucky and came across that - saved the link for posterity - you know what, I didn't even include the link! What's wrong with me? Here it is:

It's a good link, b/c as I recall, it gives info and reasoning as to why they reccomend that the signal chain should go this way. For a straight up traditional setup, they were actually pretty spot on.

I recall, the Wah is good kept in the front of the chain, where the signal is strongest and purest. And *InsertCoolName makes a great point, experimentation is a good idea too - you get different results from the effects when they are ordered differently, which can definitely be fun.
