I started playing bass when I was 14, but started at age 5 with piano, which I took until I was 13. In the middle I also played cello and sax for a couple of years. At this point I can fumble enough on guitar to write songs but I could never really play guitar in a band. I really hated piano at times but I'm glad my mom made me stick with it... the fundamentals I learned made learning bass incredibly easier. I didn't have to learn how to read sheet music or develop a sense of time. I must admit though it's been 20 years since I've read sheet music and probably wouldn't be able to now!

In the future I'd like to pick up a double bass and play in a rockabilly band, which is quite a departure from my metal band. Those things are freaking expensive though, so it'll probably have to wait until I graduate college. I would also like to learn the banjo but I know I don't have the patience.

I play on a regular basis: Bass, guitar (acoustic 6 and 12 strings, 6 string electric), drums and various bits of percussion, keyboard, alto and bass recorders and violin.

I've been messing around on cello for the last few months but without any proper tuition, I'm tempted to give it a rest.

I've also fiddled around with a uke (tenor and soprano) at times which has been fun enough. Yes, uke is a legit instrument. Also, clarinet...I can get a decent and basic tune out of it.

I can also play a little mandolin, harpsichord, oud, bouzouki and the one time I could actually find a shamisen I was having a lot of fun with that.

I'm also in the process of seeing if viola would be a better choice for my large hands than the violin, but finding a viola is proving to be trickier than I thought.

In the future I'd love to get some pro tuition on cello, double bass and the church organ.

I'm terrible at bass, drums/hand percussion, guitar, sax, piano, trumpet, flute. It all started with violin. My favorites are bass & drums. If I could play one at a professional, concert level I suppose it would be piano, namely, Liszt Sonata in B Minor & Rachmaninov's Concertos 2 & 3.

I studied classical piano from 3rd grade all the way through college (it was my major). I also studied percussion for 4 years in school, but never on drumset. I mostly focused on keyboard instruments like the marimba and vibraphone. For jazz, I'm actually better on vibes than any other instrument.

I started on bass early on in high school as a hobby, but it has since become my instrument of focus. I can also play acoustic guitar, but just enough to play some simple tunes.

I started with Drums aged 9(ish), the guitar aged 12, bass age 14 and currently at 21 I have started playing piano more. Bass became my main instrument around 18 when there were no bands looking for a guitarist...

I'd love to play both Double Bass and Cello, but I won't beat myself if I never learn them. I'm more interested in the instruments I've already started and I'd like to get better at them all.

I started out on acoustic guitar, which I now haven't played for probably 18 years. I picked up Dobro, which I play at church these days, and harmonica, which got me my single highest-paying gig, and most of the time I gig on electric bass guitar. It's all music.

Started off on guitar before switching to bass as my main, still play a lot of guitar though. I can keep a few simple beats on drums. And attempted to play piano, I figured out how to play Konstantine by Something Corporate and that was the end of my piano experience. Wish I would have stuck with it while I had more time on my hands.

Tuba, Trombone, Baritone, Trumpet, Piano/Keys, Guitar (the regular kind not the super awesome bass kind)... I've made instruments out of PVC pipe and played them.... single drum stuff (aka just snare, tympani, bass drum, quads.. marching band stuff) for some reason getting on a kit makes me look and feel like a SPECIAL KITTY™ just can't coordinate all that...

If you ask people that know me they will tell ya that if I get a day or 2 with it I'll be great.... I always disagree with it but its said....

Ummmm that should be enough =p...

Started off on trumpet in Jr High, picked up F horn and euphonium in High School, then majored in Music Ed for a year and a half, adding trombone and piano. I was competent on trumpet, better on F horn and euphonium, and halfway decent on the others. Bought a guitar a few years ago, but didn't have much time to learn it. Finally got a bass about a month ago, and loving every bit of it.
