Holy cow !
A tele bass with the pickups and sound of a precision that doesn’t weigh too much. Looks like a near perfect bass to me.
This white bass with these white pickups………..all I can say is
Yea... I never cared for all white or all black basses... then I got this thing and am a convert, lol! The black binding just makes it pop so hard, and it's become one of my faves to look at, haha! I'll post up once I've had time to swap the pup out.
Stock pu is just fine. I think, however, the SD gets closer to the P sound.

you can easily find Japanese Fender P on Reverb close to or even under 8 lbs. They sound & play great. Free your shoulder. An uncomfortably heavy bass is like a toothy blow job.
The white GZR EMGs would look pretty damn good in this bass aswell.

This white bass with these white pickups………..all I can say is
Alright... working from home is the best! I went ahead and did the pickup swap over lunch break. Easy peasy. The aerodyne has an interesting/unique kind of barrel jack and ground wires coming from both the bridge AND the conductive paint in the pickup routes. I ended up having to do a li'l soldering at the jack, but that was easy and just took a couple minutes. The pickups fit beautifully, and I cut out a couple pieces of the super nice packing foam from the pickup packaging to use as the springs/foam under the pickups.
I'm impressed with the build quality and detail in the Aerodyne. I've got my eye on two more MIJ Fenders and this just continues to impress me and make me happy with my choice.
ANYWHO, here are some pics of before and after:
I need to get back to work so I just did a quick function check and all is good. I liked what I heard so far!

Very nice job.
I put some DR black beauties on my hot rod/sith aerodyne and I think they would look awesome on your white/storm trooper aerodyne. Especially with the black binding. Sort of like a reverse tuxedo, which is perfect for the wedding gigs as mentioned earlier.

I agree, but weight might be an issue. If the OP can find a light one, and from what I've seen, they are rare, then it's the perfect bass for his needs.
The one I had (and later sold, unfortunately) was 10 lbs, and all the ones I saw in music stores were fairly heavy, too.
But, if the OP can find the neck off a Nate Mendel P, and then a lighter body, that would be perfect.

I kinda forgot about the DR coated strings. Are they actually good strings, or are you giving up tone/feel/whatever else for the sake of vanity? I've never tried them.
I think I'd maybe like the white strings on this bass. That would really connect/tie-in the matching white painted headstock, I think.
And now I'm thinking about the pink strings on my teal and pink Miami Vice bass.
OH SNAP... just saw they make a light blue string... wonder if that'll match my California blue Aerodyne Special jazz?!
Sheesh... I am putting pause on this before I end up with a pallet of new strings coming to my house.
This is the first time I've tried them aswell and I've only had them on about a month now. I personally prefer older/dead strings and these are actually really cool in terms of tone.
So I will first start off by saying they are very smooth on the fingers in terms of the coating. They are relatively lower tension compared to any other string I've tried which is nice for me because I have a bit of a heavy hand. They allow me to dig in without giving up any speed.
So for the tone, I relatively play with it rolled off for a more vintage groove and these strings while not dead, are not overly bright at all. Granted the Aerodyne has a hot pickup, these strings sound like freshly worn in rounds when the tone is dimed.
Geezer Butler actually endorsed these strings at one point and maybe still uses them but I'm not sure. Anyway paired with EMG Geezers would certainly peak my interest. I have yet to swap the pickups out but I already know it's going to be those.
