What pedals for crazy "out there" sounds?

Looking to have some fun and make some crazy bass sounds. Quacky, juicy, trippy, synthy, spacy, what have you...

I have the following pedals on my radar:

- Source Audio C4 / Spectrum
- Eventide H90
- Beetronics Zzombee

How successful have you been getting weird with these, and what other pedals would you recommend?

Well, the only single pedal that is kind of an oddball, that I own, without combining various effects, or getting crazy with my Zoom B1Xon (which does have some synth models included as well), is my DigiTech FreqOut feedback generator, which I love.

Another pedal on my wish list, which I would think would be worth looking into is the EHX Attack Decay, there's also the EHX SuperEgo+.

Empress ZOIA is pretty hard to out-crazy. Of your list I had a C4 and enjoyed it for what it was but only used the cell phone editor and not the more in-depth one.

Give a try to Guitar Rig 7. Not a pedal, but it can make some of the craziest sounds I've ever heard. There's a free demo.

I picked up a Red Panda Tensor a while ago and it took me a bit to figure out everything it can do. It covers a LOT of territory! Adding an expression pedal to it opens up a whole new level of real-time reverse stretching, pitch, looping, stutter, glitch and tape-stop effects, plus various combinations of all of those simultaneously. You can also randomize the settings so it is a truly surprising experience to mess around with.

You may want to look into some Chase Bliss offerings, particularly the Mood. Pladask is worth exploring as well - the Fabrikat and Baklengs are great. Also, the Montreal Assembly Count to Five.

I recently built this clone of a Beetronics Whoctahell, an octave fuzz. With knobs fairly low it has excellent heavy organ sounds on bass, cranked up it goes well into glitchy chaotic 8-bit territory.

Panda MIDI Future Impact V4 is a 4 voice mono synth that does crazy as well as a Source Audio C4 Synth or Spectrum.
Source Audio Artifakt offers a tool box of sound modification, destructors and improvers as does the Ultrawave Multiband Bass Distortion Lab.
For creating ambient mayhem I rely on my Zoom MS70CDR+ and original CDR.

2 pedals by ThirdMan Records I love are the mantic flex and the knife drop. The knife drop is cool because you can set it up w presets to be a fuzz, octave, filter, synth, and any combination of.
