Just had my Atelier Z body refinished. Any new ideas on what colour pickguard colour would work.? BTW the neck is maple with gold pearl blocks..

This is a hard choice and I guess you noticed that. Very nice paint work and finish.
So do you protect it or accent it?
Accent it with either Pearloid white or blue. The blue does look surprisingly nice I have to admit. You would have to see how it goes with your Sweet paint work.

Clear pick guard would give you all the protection you would ever need and let it all shine through.

I hope this thread helps you make a decision some how.
All I can say for sure is if you play that Bass outside you better wear sunglasses (even at night) and worn the audience.

I think that blue doesn't need a pickguard.

If it 'needs one, maybe a dark saturated orange would work well, or a dark burgundy kind of thing...

Nice as is tho!

Maybe just go with pickguard screws(but no pickguard) with heards in brushed gold, or something like that?

I'm gonna list a few options I think might work.

Carbon Fiber for that modern look

anything from alperious.com would be super classy and have that refined look

There's some other cool custom stuff out there, but that finish looks modern and refined, so I'll keep my suggestions within that realm.
