Kind of looks like a simplified/more affordable version of the Carl Thompson basses he’s been known for playing for decades. If I remember right he hooked up with this builder in an effort to make a new bass for him that was more affordable for us mortals.

my 2:
if an instrument balances for you, feels right while you play it, allows you to 'extend' your execution, and doesn't inhibit growth as a player --- what's not to like? the look of an instrument is only important if:
- you've already 'said' everything there is to 'say'
- you don't know what to 'say'
- the only thing you can 'say' is "it's my look"

It’s the Carl Thompson shape with that little loopy end part but it has a different headstock than Carl Thompson’s.

I am another non-fan of CT. Considering the absolutely INSANE prices, I think his basses look like something a high-school kid made for shop class.

No, no you're not...I love Les & have seen him live at least four times, but...yeachfvthtbbtttt...or some other approximate spelling of the noise I just made...

Some of the ugliest basses that I’ve ever seen. Glad I’m not the only pleb here who isn’t a fan of the aesthetics.

If I recall correctly even Les didn't like the look of it. He said the reason he uses it is because it was the most comfortable bass he'd ever played. Been a while since I've seen whatever interview/documentary that was from though so I could be wrong.
