What song sums up Rush for you ?

When you think about it, saying that a certain song sums up a band like Rush with such a huge and diverse catalog of music is just about impossible. It's like trying to determine what song sums up The Beatles or The Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin. I know it's a personal thing, but it all depends on what I feel like listening to at any given moment. Today it could be Chain Lightning (from Presto), tomorrow it could be The Body Electric (from Grace Under Pressure), the next day it could be Ghost Rider (from Vapor Trails).
Rush has been such a diverse band, that for me it would have to broken down into what era we are talking about....the first era (up to and including Hemispheres) it would be Xanadu, the Permanent Waves to Signals era it would be Spirit of Radio. The next eras...I would not know as I just cannot get into any Rush after Signaks. These are not particularly my favorite songs but to me they define the era. My Favorite song is La Via however with no vocals it would not meet the criteria. JMO
I can't believe what you guys are smoking. HOW can you talk about songs that DEFINE Rush and NOT list any of THESE classics???

"2112" is, to me, the epitome of Rush. Musically, a prog rock triumph. The back story of the band basically sticking it to the label…priceless.
Honorable mention is "Tom Sawyer", just because it's their most recognizable hit.

If I could only listen to one Rush song for the last time... I would pick 2112, hands down. "Attention all planets of the solar federation, we have assumed control." It's just EPIC.
