What songs "get" you?

Anytime I hear songs off John Lennon's "Double Fantasy" album, I get choked up.
I mean, here he was making a comeback and some crazy dude kills him in front of his building. I was bummed for months after it happened.

Miles From Nowhere - Cat Stevens

A friend that battled cancer (RIP Ben!!) loved this song, and had it as his theme song for the last year of his life. Played at his funeral etc, etc.

This song gets me very single time!

There's a couple of Diana Ross songs that have been known to get at me. "Remember Me" and "Touch Me In The Morning" come to mind.

Richard Thompson's "1952 Vincent Black Lightning" caught me unawares at a gig of his once.

I noticed I'd misted up pretty good.

A live version of Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits that has some bitchin' lap steel in it, grabs your soul and shakes it good.

These two get me as well, only Van Morrison's version of Its All over Now, Baby Blue gets the reaction out of me, and not Dylan's.

Yeah it's close, but Dylan shades it for me, purely because of the only time I got to hear him play it live, when I just crumpled.

That's a great PJ song choice btw, though 'Jeremy' always strikes me as an incredibly poignant song, too.
