kind they are - can anyone help?

They look similar to the GHS Pressurewounds with the black silk. Do they feel smoother in texture than typical rounds when you slide on them?

The only thing I'm not sure about is how the silks don't reach down to where the taper starts. The way the Pressurewounds are constructed, the silk covers the last little bit of the full winding, which is not the case with the ones in the pic. So, not 100% sure...

They are very smooth and probably 3 years old now

One possibility is the previous version of the GHS Pressurewounds.

They used to have black silk at both ends (if you can confirm that), and the winding length (ball end to taper/silk) on them was 36.5", which is long enough for thru-body on a 32" scale.

The current version only has silk at the tuner end with 37.25" winding length.

The Pressurewounds are very smooth in surface texture due to the way the outer round wire is slightly flattened into an oval shape. GHS uses the term "rollerwound" for them.
