Upon closer inspection, my purple silked strings have a steel rope core, with a neon green braid surrounding it. I'm guessing that they are superflexibles, but after using them on a gig, I'm not going to switch after all. Thanks for the input!

Pirastro Original Flexocors have purple silk at both ends.
However, at the peg end, the last half of the silk gets the Pirastro color ID. (toward the end of the string, so if they were trimmed short, you may miss that part of the string, which makes them more harder to ID)
These strings' E & A are fat and have a boomy dark tone.

these match your description, Francois, except for the color ID, the strings are long, but there's no Pirastro colors. It's a mystery!
