What strings?

Ernie Ball and DR strings have nothing in common. Different core wire, different wrap wire, different wrap ratios, different construction method. They really shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence.

Of course mmbongo!

I know that there´s some differences. DR is steel and EB is nickel, but you can find DR in nickel too. But for me there´s not too much differences in sense of touch and bright between DR and Ernie Ball, if I compare ´em with Rotosound or D´Addario, for instance. Rotosound are brighter, rougher, and to me seems having more tension. And I found D´Addario with higher tension than DR or EB, and after a few days it seems to be dark in his sound fastest than EB and DR. Finally, EB and DR it´s posible to find ´em in the same gauge 45-100 or 45 105, so there´s no differences.

I´m talking about that for me is the second choice, when I get a tight budget. But if the money is not a matter I put DR over all.

Maybe I don´t explained so well.;)

Beginner strings? Lol....never heard that one before.

Yeah I know what he means though. Reminds me of the very first time I bought strings I was probably 18 or 19. I knew nothing at all about anything. I bought GHS Boomers because they had exploding dynamite on the package, and they were called 'Boomers'! After all, at that time (early 90's) it was all about having booming bass in your car, so Boomers have to be great for bass guitar :)

Funny thing though, that's also how I see D'Addario. A good, solid, safe string that works.
