Maybe for a pickup having a combination of piezo and your one sngle coil would give a cool balance of sound... of course i'm assuming that the resonating qualities would be favorable...

also i was thinking that having multiple pick ups for the different ranges would allow you to turn off the high strings while playing the low ones... seems to me like there would be a lot of arm brushing against those strings making a lot of excess noise...

but man that thing's cool... can't wait to hear it

OK topics include, active vs. passive, and tube amps vs. solid state... oh and throw in Mac vs. Windoze while we are at it.

(Example; Passive bass, through Tube Amp into Windoze = Cosco Sized Box of Suck)

Seriously though, Roma, and 14-string Basses weren't built in a week.

Just so you know in advance, there's a good ol mod likes to thwart those that knock on the ERB's and feel the guys using the upper registers aren't as welcome on TalkBass.
