Purpleheart boards are the coolest looking thing! My next bass WILL have one.Sorry fellas, I've been building my brother a guitar for Christmas, so I haven't been working on the bass for the past week. I'll be back to work on the bass soon, but Christmas is a deadline I must meet! Here's some pics of my brother's Christmas guitar

Frets are in! Nut blank is also glued in, tomorrow I'll try to slot it. Those 2 strings are the .165 and the .150.
that is absolutely gorgeous - how much do you want for a singlecut version with a zebrano top?

Bridges have to be compensated so that they reach the scale distance for each edge... example, this instrument is 37" on the low end, 33.25" on the higher end...

Sure. I don't have any store bought basses or guitars, but here's a six string that is maybe 4 inches shorter than an Ibanez soundgear bass, for example
It's pretty compact for what it's going to be. It's all strings.
I'm all done w/ my bro's Christmas guitar. It sounds great!
I just got the new tuners for the big bass in the mail, so I'm going to do some finishing touches on the headstock, and install them this week. I'm going to wind myself a big single coil pickup, hopefully this week as well, which I've never done before, so as soon as I make some progress, I'll update the thread
