What the heck? 14 strings

Yes. I couldn't find separate pictures though.
You find them mostly on Steinberger EUBs, I've seen fretless basses equiped with this system too.

The atlansia single pups are listed on the site as discontinued, no longer available for sale. They were listed at a really high price, too. Along those lines, their listed parts prices have always been really high--does anyone know if there is a discount applicable? They have some cool bridges.

That's what they use on the NS basses. This is the six string version.

Clint Searcy makes single string pickups. He's a TalkBass member.

He doesn't have them listed on his site, but they look like this:

you know...you can MAKE those...just buy those little 24VDC relays...pull out the coil, solder on some leads, and put a magnet under them...I'm currently looking to resurrect a broken acoustic soundhole pickup like this...

That would work. You might need to boost the output up a bit, but with 14 in series, that should be enough!

I've done some research on some...you can get some that have 2H of inductance and 1k6 of resistance...quite a bit...

I've also seen others with about 600R resistance, these in series would give you 8k2 series resistance...personally, I'd try setting them up so that they'd by hum cancelling (can be done by flipping the coils and magnet poles on seven of the 14).

Wow! what a cool project.

The Scarabs I'm making these days look more like this.

They have a resistance of about 5K ohms and use neodymium magnets. The old style looked cool but were a bit too big. I'm a bit surprised to see how much my new ones look like the NS pickups.

Crazy!:eyebrow:
