Hi guys, I have been busy with other things lately, painting and doing upgrades to house to sell it by March hopefully. No probs, just life getting in the way of my fun. I haven't touched a guitar in weeks. Geez, I feel guilty not being able to update this thread, what can I do????????

Foxworthy925 - Soooooo, it's been a while. ¿An¥ news?
mutedeity - I think we all need to start a chant. Go Dusty, Go Dusty.......etc.
codyAllen191 - ..dun dun dun.....another one bites the "dust".......hope not though....I really wanna see this thing
Vorago - He probably created a hole in the space/time continuum after stringing it in octaves and 5ths and playing an open string. Or he was tigerkidnapped by G to the G.
Kalyptic - dusssttyyyyy???!?!?!? mrufff
El-Bob - DUSTY COME BACK!!!, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!
0175westwood29 - come on you can't leave us hanging!
allenhumble - Represent!
Jonny B Hey - Dusty, c'mon back. We'll even leave the light on for ya.
0175westwood29 - common man we dieing!
dmilt23451 - Oh where Oh where has Dusty G gone????

DUDES, Gives this poor guy a break!
Appearently he has an actual life outside of feeding forum junkies :D ;).

Oh it's just that I can't stand the suspense because I on the other hand have absolutely no life, just like you are so obviously implying.

On the other hand we could all be giving Dusty a good flogging like that other dingleberry with the 13 string bass on youtube. Poor Dusty it must hurt to be encouraged and supported.

I implied nothing.
I was pretty direct that unlike Dusty, forum junkies have no life.
I also assumed the :D;)s made it clear I was joking!:D
If it wasn't clear I was joking - my apologies.

I just thought it was funny;
Dusty let's everyone know he's trying to renovate/sell a house by some time in March, and a few days later, he basically gets "where are you man?".

This project is totally kick-ass and all that, and I can't wait to see the result, but I have to play the ignorant n00b (please don't hate on me, I'm just perplexed and dumb) and ask:

What's the point of a 14-string bass?
I just don't get it.
Obviously you get MONDO range and it looks REALLY badass! Seriously, cool design and colors! I've seen purpleheart on Les's Rainbow Bass, but thick purpleheart stripes? Très chic.

Anyway... umm... don't be hatin'?

Here's a picture of Tito Santana to tide you over

Haha that's nice, wrestlers are pretty much the same as tingle-inducing basses

Honestly if you have never heard or seen Jean Baudin, Stew Mckinsey or Yves Carbone play, or never seen an extended range bass, don't bother saying it's useless. If you have and you are still saying it's useless then you obviously aren't paying attention. These instruments obviously have their use to those that know how to use them. Those that don't generally say stupid things about how useless they are.

Well, I saw (on YouTube) Jean Baudin and Yves Carbone and, yeah, they can do some cool stuff. Carbone can really utilize the extended range for making chords, and with a mellow bass sound, as opposed to a 6-string guitar, it sounds pretty cool. Baudin, though, I wasn't really impressed with. All I've seen him do is fret-tap out some chords... cool? I could do what he does on a piano. Mario? Zelda? No problem. Gimme a toy Casio piano. I will say, however, that he can compose and improv pretty well. I saw him do his thing with Carbone while Yves was fingerpickin' a cool little ditty.

So, no, I guess ERB's aren't useless. I certainly have no use for them. Unless classical-progressive-jazz-easy-listenin' is the musical turn I next choose to take (unlikely).

Again, though, I can't wait to see how your bass turns out, Dusty G!
Hope your house thing is goin' a'ight. Post, eh?
