Yeah I was kind of hoping he found something in the freezer that had been in there for many years and was trying to figure out what it was.
Several years ago, I moved into a townhome that had been vacant with no power for about 6 months. When moving the kitchen stuff in, I found a pork loin vacuum-sealed in brine or broth or some liquid. It was so engorged and swollen, the vacuum bag was pulled taught.
I didn't sleep very well for days after that.
I remember as a poor student one of the guys finding a 5 year old lamb chop in the very recesses of the freezer, we watched him for days after he ate it but he was fine.
Had this happen last month.
Opened the ice cream to enjoy and it was soft... yet everything else was frozen.
Checked it for a few days and still other items are hard but not the ice cream, then the fourth day the blue berries were now soft.
The freezer section was dying. Called out the repair man and the most expensive way this Samsung Refrigerator could die, it did. Leaked its coolant and such...
Three days into the State Ordered Lockdown (we are still in while writhing this) I had to buy a new refrigerator.
Got a whirlpool, like it much better and last nights ice cream was good and hard (until I was scrapping the bottom).
Is scraping the bottom a bad thing?^ is really scraping the bottom, reviving this thread.
Don't put ice cream in the freezer.....Eat it!.....

Chuck some rum in it...fat straw.....It is a bit too soft once home from the store so in needs a bit in the freezer. I like it hard, then it will not survive the night.

Now I want a float.
This staying home is not easy when the ice cream keeps running out.
Our freezer does that too with ice cream. I have a hard time believing the freezer is bad when everything else is frozen rock solid but ice cream.
My fix was to stop buying ice cream. Problem solved.

You got a bad 6L6 tube in the compressor.
