I went into this starf*cks the other day. As I pulled up the radio had a story about how the rate of malnourished Iraqi children has doubled over the last year. In the shop was this guy SCREAMING at the barista because she wouldn't serve him a 200 degree drink. People were standing around staring and no one knew what to do. Finally the barista made him the drink to shut him up and he was completely unware that he had just ruined 20 people's day by casting a dark shadow all around him. For the next 12 hours all i could think about was what I should said to him. He was like Jonathan on Amazing Race...

Anyway not like slicing off limbs or anything, but it's on the spectrum of civil disorder and egocentrism that is part of the mother killing babies kind of thing. Disconnection with civil life.

I agree tho that people have always been murderous, mean and stupid we just hear about it more today. And maybe people are more murderous, mean, and stupid than ever...
