Didn't see this until now. Nope, I haven't touched it, stock tubes still too. It's plenty deep at the volumes I need and works for all my bass and guitar needs.

He's got a Great sense of humor. He watches me and listens to me and shakes his head. Tells me he's glad he can play guitar. He used to be a bass player.... Plus he trusts me with the family van. Something went through the radiator on the highway, the van went into nuclear meltdown it got so hot. At least one of the head gaskets is wasted, it's burning more coolant than fuel. I got the motor out at my shop, but don't have it apart yet to know if it's going to be cheaper to rebuild it or just get a good used motor... Take care,

'67 Fender Showman with Mercury Magnetics OT and some other mods. 7581As. Sunn 200S cab with a JBL K140 and JBL D140.

I'm playing an outdoor show this weekend and thinking of adding a '67 Bandmaster with a couple of K120s to give it a little more upper end definition. The rig did pretty well last weekend outdoors, but with two drummers, it got somewhat overwhelmed in some of the louder parts. Great tone, though!

The next project is to bump the Bandmaster up to Showman power with new trannies and 4 output tubes.

Very nice! I want a mesa 400 with an old school styled 1x15 again someday. I had that rig in the 80's using a mesa road ready 1x15 before I fell for the solid-state / 4x10 with a tweeter sound. What cab do you prefer with your mesa?

I use a Marshall Plexi 100. My cab situation is about to be a Marshall 4x12 for that amp. I also run an Alembic pre/superfilter paired with a Behringer INuke through an EA Wizzy 12M. Then I don't have to crank the Marshall past where the breakup sounds good to me.
