Yes, it is. DIY: a hemisphere made of styrofoam. Really effective and on that stage my only chance to survive the gig (playing in a duo also requires to hear more details than playing in a trio or larger...)

Nice! Digging the bass, too. Saw a dude just last night on one of those late night TV talk shows using one of those new LP Jr's, too. The frontman was named Gary Clark, Jr. Real bluesy. Dude on bass sounded big and fat.

A belated update. Late last year, I commissioned a build with Kevin Shaw in Nashville. He's more well known for his hand-built guitar amps, but I'm glad some of his low-end buddies kept pestering him to come up with a bass amp. Boy, did he! I took delivery of one of his B-150 amps earlier this year. It's essentially a high-powered B-15 with a 6-position mid-emphasis switch. It is my new favorite bass amp ever:

Either the SVT-CL or the '72 SVT. The '72 is my hands down favourite but the SVT-CL eq'd correctly sounds pretty spot on. I also have an Ampeg 8x10 (2003 era) but I find it to be very dark and boomy compared to the NV610. It's also not fun to move so it rarely see's any gig time anymore.

Have a 78 or 79 SVT (forget which year) and a 71 V4B. Both sound pretty nice through a Bag End 212. =]

Silly me. I fired up the Reeves/110 Flex in my living room yesterday and realized that my favorite between these two is the one I'm plugged into at the time.

I see less and less bands using tube amps for bass!! So we are becoming a select club... So what tube head do you use?

I have a Dynacord BA300 (150 watts RMS), a Multitone 200 deluxe (8x el34) and a Schaller V35 for homepractice... (35 watts).

And what cabinet do you use along with it?

My B-15N(C) comes with it's own Double Baffle Reflex Cabinet. I've also owned a B-15N(D) and a Airline/Valco

I started out on a SS and moved to a SVT-IV Pro. Last year, I was using a Sansamp VT-RM w/ a class d power amp, and that was nice too. However, I'm shelving that lighter weight in favor of a Fender Super Bassman 300. Yes it's heavy, but it has what I want in all the right places.

Right now, I'm using it w/ a Mesa Powerhouse 2x12. One day I'd like to run it into a pair of fEARFUL 15/6 tubes.
