what type bass

i have a middle school pic of me holding a bass around 1983.. im curious what type and model it was

You expect someone to be able to tell from that? It looks like a 75 Jazz Reissue but without a clear picture of the head stock and the rest of the bass it will be difficult at best to tell.

It’s a Jazz bass of undetermined mfg. with a maple FB and block inlays. Looks like it has a scoop over the bridge. That’s about all I can tell you from that photo.

Two knobs instead of the usual 3, unless one fell off.
Headstock kinda looks like '70s Ibanez.
