What was the oddest pet you ever owned?

Yeah I had a potbelly once, but he stayed with my girlfriend when we broke up. He was awesome, really surprisingly bright, great company, very affectionate. The strangest thing was how easy it was to tell his mood from the different oinks.
Downsides: He was very much driven by his appetite and it was a nightmare keeping him in good shape, and taking him for walks took hours because everybody had to stop me to ask the same questions.
A baby paddlefish...was the coolest thing ever and then got about a foot long and I turned him loose
I've had lots of cool critters....
dogs, cats, snakes, lizards, rats, gerbils, guinea pigs, ferrets, fish, etc...
The oddest must have been this guy
The story goes, I had worked Friday morning 9am until Sunday 4pm STRAIGHT THROUGH!!! to save my bosses hide and my job. As thanks (beyond massive OT) the head sales guy knowing I had a 350 gallon Koi tank in my livingroom, offered me his 75 gallon salt tank as a gift... I just needed to get it from his place, and clean it out....
He unplugged it 6 to 8 months earlier and it had evaporated to 1/2 a tank of salt marsh stink!!!!
The Wife and I loaded up the Volvo wagon with some buckets and siphon tubes. The Eel was alive and well in a salt content so high that my tester couldn't read it!!!!
He lived another 2 years in what became a pretty cool live rock & sand tank with a couple soft corals.

Not really a strange pet but I had a 6' boa constrictor. She was awesome. I would bring her out with me almost everyhwere that I went. But then I went away to college and they wouldn't allow snakes in the dorms. So I gave her to a zoo.
Oddest pet? I can think of a few, but she was probably in the Top 5:

My dog Dobey. He likes to scratch himself against the walls like a cat, is obsessive about cleaning himself, is super jumpy and snores very loudly.
Probably my old guinea pig that got seriously drunk on a rotten apple one night and squealed for four and a half hours before going to sleep.

I used to have a dwarf hen I bought for $15. Her name was Bacon.
Over the years I've had a collection of frogs.
One was an African Bullfrog I believe and I kept it in a partition tank. Water half had guppies and goldfish, land half had a few anoles and had a log going across the whole deal. So I dropped the frog inside and then a week later I realized one of the anoles escaped. I couldn't find a way of escape so I figured it got out while I was feeding them. Awhile later another one went missing and I was seriously puzzled.
Then I saw the frog eating the third anole. Whole. Mind you this frog was the size of a dollar coin and the lizard was about 5 inches long. Yeah... not a pretty sight.
Eventually it ate the last two lizards before moving on to the gold fish and the guppies before dying...
And there's Erkle, the giant tropical fish. It was about a handspan in length and had a leapord print sort of body so far as I can remember (I was little) that had taken upon himself as his personal duty to eat anything moving in that tank. When he died, my dad ate him.
Then theres the miracle fish. I have a 75 gallon freshwater tank in my basement I let go of after I thought everything in it died. 2 years later it was 4 inches of mud and algae. So I decided I wanted to use the filter and clean out the tank, so I start refilling and cleaning and I see something move. There was a FISH STILL ALIVE AFTER TWO YEARS OF NOT BEING FED! Can't recall the name of the fish offhand, it was a gift from an exgirlfriend. I'll take a picture with my camera phone tonight if I can.
Other pets I have currently are a pair of lovebirds, a pair of sun conures, and a dove that I caught post 9/11. I also have two turtles with red "ear" markings on the sides of their heads. I got them in kindergarten and I'm in college now, and they're still kicking. I've got two dogs (deformed mutt and a french toy poodle that was my sisters) and a lot of fish.
Former pets not already mentioned were: 6 dogs, 11 cats, innumerable fish, a ton of cheap geckos that never lived very long, giant millipede that the dog ate, a tarantula that the dog ate, and a Macaw I inherited. The Macaw, Maki, lived 3 years after I got him before dying. The bird was in its late 60s and got depressed the months before its death and stopped eating...
Damnit.

Damnit.
I had an octopus for a while. I didn't plan it it, he came as a hitchhiker on some live rock I added to the aquarium. They are a destructive pain in the ASS!! They are also nocturnal. I had to stay up for about 3 nights to catch him
Here is my mystery Anemone. It also must have arrived on some live rock. I never saw it until it's top was about the size of a quarter, now it's about 6 inches across. It must be VERY stingy as my clowfish won't go near it. It's about a year old now. I was going to pluck it out as it moves around and bothers my soft corals but it's kind of cool
the closest thing I can find is sand dahlia anemone. I'm not 100% sure though.
