What was your first bass guitar?

I had a really ****ty Mako P bass copy with what may have been the worst bridge design ever - bent the strings at a 45 degree angle. Broke 'em all the time. I have some pix somewhere, but they're not worth the effort to scan!

There's a reason you've never heard of "Mako".

My first and still my only bass is an Ibanez SRX300, when I get a new bass I'm probably going to make this one fretless.

first was a peavey internarional series 4 string in a reddish/orrange kinda burst. Still have and cherish it.

I had a Squier P-bass deluxe I sold to a friend/former guitarist of mine for 100 bucks. The way I see it, my first real bass was my TBC(four string), and I'm never selling this.

In 1993 or so, I started on a Washburn Precision lookalike that the band director bought for me the summer I started playing.

The following year I was able to buy my first and only bass I have owned: An Ibanez EX-Series 5 string that came with passive EMG Selects. After I graduated school, I got some Active EMGs, EMG BTC circuit and a Warwick adjustable brass nut.

I have not played many basses that play like mine. I love it!

Fender MIM standard P-bass in midnight wine. Sold it about a year later when I really got "serious" with my bass playing. It wasn't the best bass but was pretty easy to play, I havent played a MIM P that sounded or felt quite as nice since I really wish I would have kept it now, but dont we all?

This is what my first bass was except it was in red. I bought it at a pawn shop in 1983 for $100. I was a total turd of a bass. I traded it for an Aria Pro II about 6 months later and played that bass for 10 years.

No pics, but it was a '62 Fender Precision.

I sold it for (after playing on it for about three years) rent money, or for car parts, or...hmmm, I don't recall exactly.

I do remember selling it to get some cash for something. I wish I hadn't, that's for sure.

The first bass I started playing was a Yamaha RBX270 it was a loaner then I played a Yamaha BB404 for a while, another loaner, then I bought my own, an Ibanez SRX300. I still use it.

My first bass was a Peavey T-40 back in 1984. After playing it for about a year, I convinced my parents that bass was going to be a lifelong commitment, so they invested in a Steinberger XL-2, shown below (that's my bass, just not me. That bassist is David Harbour of Chastain and King Diamond fame--I traded him in '89 for a Kubicki)

Mine,which I still have is a loaner it is a Charvel San Dimas in Black With Seymour Duncan PUPS and a BAd ASS 2 bridge now I have an SR400 and I'm wann go big with a Spector or Musicman
