rogue lx205. it sucked right out of the box, but i learned how to do a setup on it, and it's been a great player ever since. demo recorded with it: Link Removed
I can't seem to find any pictures of me with my first bass... but this is pretty close.
Cruise by VMI (as if being by VMI would be impressive). It looked the part of a rock bass but just sounded like a rock.
Mine was missing a strap button on the horn, so I used to strap it to the E tuning peg, haha... oh so young and dumb.

I had a red version of this white one....
It's a Sekova Vulcan (peace and long life)...

Man, nothing like starting at the top of things. I'd love a '63 P (year I was born, and a CLASSIC P to boot!), but can't shell out the 7,500 (etc) they are going for these days. You're a lucky man.
First bass: EB-0 copy (no name anywhere) with an amp for $75 dollars from a friend, grade 11.
My first bass was a Charvel neck through with active electronics. I bought it new in 87-88? by working all summer at Roy Rogers.
1963 P, got it in 1967, still mine:

A Klira Fender copy. Got it at a pawn shop. The guy there said it was a ":cheap MIJ Slab Bass", but through Talkbass I now know it was actually German.
Now that I have 2 full-scale basses I've come to the conclusion the the Klira was a short-scale. It's so long ago now that I don't recall if it was a P or Jazz copy.

Yamaha RBX 250.
It was light and played easily, I did so much stuff with and to that bass...then I bought my Hohner B2 Steinberger copy, which led me to sell the Yamaha.
Don't miss it much. Still prefer the sound of a P-style instrument.

'83 P. Was playing guitar at the time and loaned the bass to my bassist, along with amp. After a year I pressed him to find his own. He shopped and couldn't find anything he liked better so I reluctantly sold it to him for a good deal. Kept the band together and everyone was basically happy. The neck was always too wide for me so I didn't really miss it. It was beautiful though with a maple neck, candy apple blue over a maple body and a white pickguard. No pics.
Fender P-bass Lyte Deluxe. I keep it behind my desk at work for times when I have a few minutes to goof off at the end of the day.
