What was your first concert?... Your last?

For me.....

1st.... Sonny and Cher,.. probably about 1970..... I was 3..... but I do remember some of it, It was at the NY state fair, (Miller Court) any one remember it?

Last.. RUSH .. Last summer.

Just want to add, My first real Rock Concert experience, was when I was about 13, the Kinks came out with the Destroyer album.

Thats what they opened up with, that song, I will never forget when Dave Davies ripped into that guitar riff in the chorus

I remember thinking.... Holy Crap! This is the coolest thing I have ever seen!

Hundreds of concerts in between too!

i think first was LA Phil in 97 or 98... I think they played Dvořák No. 9. I don't know. I used to pee my pants all the time during concerts so my first concert doesnt really matter. Really weird but it helped me get through those long concerts.

last concert was Matisyahu last wednesday in Cincinnati. pretty good. I should have made it on stage. He got a ton of people on stage and I hesitated. I hate my life, in other news.

My first concert was 1975, The Who, at the Coliseum in Cincinnati. It was the tour prior to the people getting trampled. Scariest crowd I've ever been in. They only opened one door to let people in, and it was like a bunch of BB's being funneled into a bottle. I was lifted off of my feet several times.

Last two concerts have been Rush. This year. :)

First one that I remember was in '63 or '64. The Shondells (before it became Tommy James and the Shondells, even though Tommy was in the band), and Jimmy Soul ("If You Wanna' Be Happy"). I was either 13 or 14, depending on which year it was.

The last one was an 80th birthday bash for Bobby "Blue" Bland a year and a half ago. Also on the bill were B.B. King, Bobby Rush, Clarence Carter, Latimore, Shirley Brown, and others.

First? Maybe Tops in Blue or something like that when I was five or six. First I paid for and went to on my own? Les Claypool with his fancy band. Last I went to that's a major act? Four Year Strong. Last concert anything? Local ska band The Insecurities.

First - Rush "Grace Under Pressure" tour in 1984 in New Orleans at the UNO Lakefront Arena. Fastway opened up.

Last - Not including seeing a few local shows at clubs, it was Rush on the Time Machine Tour at the New Orleans Arena!

First: Cheap Trick, 1979 Dream Police tour. I was 16 and it was the perfect first show--no opener, 2+ hours of the band. They were great and it was a fine venue (Sunrise Musical Theater in Ft. Lauderdale) that I returned to many times in my youth.

Last: Elvis Costello & The Imposters at the Chicago Theatre in May, doing the Spinning Songbook tour. I loved every minute.

First - The Damned - Long Beach, 1985
My next concert (unless another show comes up first) will be The Damned in October--they're still going! Opening up will be the Legendary Shack Shakers, which features TBer dukeofrock on bass. My girlfriend's seen the Shack Shakers and they're excellent. But this is an odd pairing of bands, it should be interesting.:D

Does anyone in Mexico and the Americas sleep? Just looked at Red Rocks show line up and thinking of getting tickets to The Perfect Circle. Might turn out to be my 1st concert. If only I could get parents to cave and give me money for ticket and ride. :hmm: Must sleep. Like a stone by Audio Slave putting me to sleep. So tired..........

Whew!! This is a long time ago. If memory serves me correct, my first "concert" was in 1966 in Dearborn, Michigan at some big roller skating ring for Sam the Sham and the Pharaoh's!! (Wooly Bully!!) That was back in the days when PA's were non-excistant! Fact is, I remember they used the amps from the opening act and the PA was the house system. You know, those plastic horns way up in the ceiling!! No light show either. Just the house lights. Yep, the good old days.

My last concert was for Rush's Time Machine tour a few months back at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan.

Concerts have come a long way since Sam the Sham's days!
