What was your first ever bass amp?

If only I'd know then what I know now!
Ampeg B-15 Fliptop "Head" and a 1x18 Cabinet (Badged Kelly - but didn't fit the mark where the original badge was).
Bought for £150 in Andy's Guitar SHop, Denmark St. London.
When I later fell on hard times I tried to sell it. Then I was told that Ampeg didn't make a Fliptop Head and that it had been Chopped.
Sold back to Andy's for £50.

Duoverb into a Carvin 2x15 main. Surprisingly worked pretty good...

And the GK guy was selling; it seems that Ozzy Osbourne had just released his first solo album and GK guy was shooting for _that_ sound. Go figure... Anyway, I buy his GK 400b (not a typo) and all of a sudden I'm screamin four string terror much to my guitarist's consternation. So that was my first real amp.

I still have it too. It's in storage with some preamp issues. Maybe I should dust it off and giver 'er a rip.

This guy. A Yamaha 115b solid state with a 15 inch speaker. 1981 is when I got it. I always loved the amp, and it sounded pretty good from what I remembered.

I actually found one of these when I was on the road touring, and my tour manager bought it for me on the spot after he saw me looking at it. This was a shot in the music store just before we loaded it on the trailer. I haven't played it for a few years, would be cool to get it out for a gig or just to mess around eventually.

Hello;
My first amp was a Standel Artists "piggy Back" with a single 15" D-130 JBL. Over the years I used it, The damn thing literally fell apart!
I liked the Standel as the bass player in the "Pastel 6" Used one! Really liked that group!

My first amplification was playing through the mic input on a tube Sony reel-to-reel at the church rectory, doing CCR and Doobie Bros. covers.

The first actual bass amps were also borrowed or rented: Montgomery Ward, Magnatone, etc. That led to a 3-15 white sparkle Naugahyde Kustom rig. Perfect for 70's funk, classic rock, etc.

My first brand new bass was purchased on credit at Montgomery Wards. A white Telecaster copy that cost $79. Yes, I made $7 monthly payments.

Somehow I went from that to a triamp setup with a pair of JBL 4530 scoops, 212 cabs and horns. In my defense it was the eighties, I had the dangerous combo of being young, an avid consumer of music publications, had a good day job including free customized Ford van and nothing better to do.

Now my big rig can be carried in my Miata.
