what would signature bass be?

I would like a headless 5 string bolt-on with a 34" to 37" multiscale neck. Passive electronics and two pickups that can give me a huge split-coil sound or a biting single-coil tone as desired. Master volume knob, pickup blend knob (with a linear taper), multi-position knob for different pickup selections. Body would be a non-radical shape (think Kiesel Vader).
Body material is an interesting question; I may want to go composite like BassLab or traditional wood. If wood, probably alder core with a blue dyed curly maple top finished in glossy clear.
Neck is again interesting: all composite like a Modulus? Would have to try it as an option. If wood, 7 piece maple neck with figured wenge fretboard and no inlays. Graphite rods. Fender 6230 size frets or smaller.
After getting this no-doubt awesome signature model, I might also want a double-neck that would have a fretted on the lower neck and fretless monoscale on the upper with fretlines on the board.

Mine. But, I'd have a graphite neck with white block inlays. I just didn't want to spend the extra money on it when I built it.

I'll have it done by Christmas. Tele with big single in the neck, Bigman in the bridge, forest/emerald green stain with black pickguard, black bibicz bridge, rosewood with blocks neck. Way sick. (Sigh) Christmas
Rickenbacker 4000 series body with no binding, full C neck 1.5" nut width, 9" radius @ 33.25" scale with a satin finish and one double action truss rod, one active humbucker, bridge position, 3 band eq. Hipshot Type A-style bridge.
Either that or just a regular P bass.

Just realized I could also put this in the "things I'll never own" thread, ha ha.
I guess mine would be whatever my many fans most associated with me playing at the time of my greatest notoriety, and success... I'd then be subject to the manufacturer of that particular model being amenable to making something to similar specs that would sell commercially because my name was associated with it.

Hate to sound smug, but I got mine, but I had to build it myself(Thanks Warmoth!) I love their stuff! a bit pricey, but worth it, with all their options they have available.
I modified a used, but in decent condition MIJ Fender jazz bass Special, it needed a refin(hurricane katrina, damage) but solid none the less. converted it into a modern telebass. I ordered a reverse wenge tele neck with ebony FB w/abalone dots/markers, I upgraded everything I could. I love, love it! I ruined the og neck trying sand out the dents & dings on the back.
I have my own custom series!
It includes DB, P Bass and Jazz Bass - all built to my preferred specs
funny thing about my jazz bass - it has a 1.75" nut! usually the opposite of what most people do....put jazz necks on p basses.
thanks to the fine people at Musikraft and Nordstrand, I play my dream bass!
my p bass is a warmoth build - simple simon - also has a Nordstrand pickup
My upton has the shoe polish finish, hatpeg tuners, and a carbon end pin.
i have a custom Tom Clement 6-string i had him build that i dont have a pic of here. but also custom built

i cant do it the justice it deserves but i've always wanted a 6er to learn theory on and maybe pull out in a few years when i can really rock out on it! never liked the 6ers i played and didn't like the look of most so, i had one built.

NICE! I always love to see 80's era instruments, I was going top say you don't see much of Bernie's basses around but I just noticed that his guitars have been resurrected just recently? Maybe the 'resurrectors' forgot about the bass line like Kramer did..oh, wait, there are a whole 2 new BC Rich new basses available at Musicians Friend, unlike the single one Kramer new bass.
Huh... probably something loosely akin to a Modulus Graphite Quantum-6 TBX, only with narrower string spacing than any Modulus bass that was ever officially called a "TBX" but wider string spacing than any of the neck-thru Modulus 6-strings that weren't officially called a "TBX". Then add the electronics from a modified Alembic Series II -- not only change out the low-pass filters for full 3-way SuperFilter functionality, but also add microprocessor-controlled presets. And then give the thing a swanky but tasteful AAAAA flamed maple top & back like the sort that Pedulla or ACG or Fodera occasionally use(d). And finally, don't have my name or signature anywhere on the instrument. You can call it The Bob Ross Signature Bass, but I don't want to have to read that when I'm holding this gorgeous instrument.
Would tweak this a bit to have:
- American Ultra / Elite body and neck joint
- Geddy Lee neck profile (the original thin one)
- 21 frets and truss rod access wheel
- Vintage single coils
- Passive stacked knob controls
- Swimming pool-less and tooling dimple-less body without a pickguard
- Hipshot ultralight tuners with Extender key
- Hipshot Kickass bridge
- Matching headstock
- Offered in Dakota or Candy Apple red
- Unlined fretless model also
A pearl white on white Fender fretless jazz bass with a no line neck. Hi mass bridge but everything else stock. I like the signature basses that keep the cost down for the masses. This is close to what I play now, but my neck has lines.
