What would you buy

I think I'd take a JMJ Mustang Bass.

Nothing. Fender's offerings for a left handed player border on a cynical joke, compared to what they offer anybody else. I already have a very nice '78 3TB P-Bass. And a burst finish P-Bass equals a sizable percentage of what I could buy new from them. I don't need or want another one; so, no thanks. You can have my 50% off coupon if you want. I'm sure you can find something you like ...

I'd probably want to order something from the Fender Custom Shop, maybe something like the Jamerson Funk Machine, but with normal setup/action. The only trouble would be that I would want a new instrument, and the Fender Custom Shop only seems to do relics these days. Admittedly, I don't follow Fender or the Custom Shop too closely, but when did they stop making new basses that look like new basses?
