What would you choose?

First to say - My budget is low.
2. - There isn't much choice here..
3. I've found these 4 that suit me by $$
4. I have really low knowledge when it comes to basses, pickups, amps etc. :crying:
I mean I can play but my theory knowledge is really low - Thats why I joined this forum in the first place, heh - ( it came to be just much more then that, i'm addicted :p )

So here's the selection :

Washburn Force 5

Peavey Grind Bass 5 BXP NTB

Ibanez SRX 505

IBANEZ SR505 -BM bass

Is it smart for me to buy any of these? I don't want to cry in vain after one year of playing.. And if you just could explain your answers, if i get any! Thanks..

Best regards, and thanks for any help!

between these particular basses, i honestly have no preference. Between teh brands making them, however, i do.

In my experience i've found that Ibanez in general is a very reliable company. Almost everything that carries the name ibanez on it is probably going to be at least fairly decent.

Peavey, hmm...i own a late 70s early 80s fury bass and its a great bass. Some people that i've talked to don't like their newer products though...

And washburn, not much experience with these guys either but a buddy of mine owned a cheapo washburn a while back and to say it nicely it was horrible. But that is one of their higher class products so i'm not too sure about that one...but i mean, come on, it's a Washburn.

but if i had a choice, I'd go with the Ibanez or Peavey basses.
both pretty reliable brands.

but you might someone else's opinion because i'm not too familiar with those basses and 5 strings in general. :D

I'm very gratefull, you don't know how much this means to me, heh..
Just one thing when you said "Comon', it's washburn" - > you mean Come on it has to be good - right ? :ninja:

I can second the Peavey or Ibanez comment. However, I lean towards the Peavey Myself. I had a T 40 back in the day and an Ibanez at one time too.

But, based on the choices you offer I like the Peavey.

My best advice though, is be sure you are comparing apples to apples, and be sure to play the 3 and decide from fell in hand and how it sounds to you before you spend your money....

:D

i'm a huge peavey fan, but from what i've heard I'd avoid the grind.
ibanez is good, I'd take the SR over the SRX
Washburn....not a fan. they feel cheap to me. sorry i can't think of a better way to explain it.
have you considered ESP/LTD? i just ordered one of their 6-ers, they're good basses IME.
also, consider the peavey BXP millenniums. i own one, it's a great bass.

with peavey, esp/ltd, and ibanez i think you're always gonna get the most for your money in terms of playability, quality, and sound.

I was looking at a Grind Bass a few months ago. The neck-thru (if that's the same one you're looking at) is nice but i personally didn't like the sound at all. I ended up forgoing the Grind for an Ibanez, then returned the ibanez for a ray.

A GC guy's advice was that the Peavey basses don't perform well at high volume. Quoting a returning customer he said "When i turned it up it felt like a toys R us bass"...

I heard that and moved on.
