What would you like from Gibson?

That T-Bird thread got me thinking. Assuming you would like to play a Gibson...what would you like them to offer?

Reissues...RD and Old style T-bird seem popular. I would love to see either of those.

Despite my love of T-Birds, I would really love something with the T-bird electronics in a different body as well (maybe a cross between the Jack Casady and the Double Cut Les Paul aka Money Bass they had a few years back) just so it could sit easily in a portable stand for multi-set gigs or multi gig nights..and be easily outfitted in a kick a** gig bag. :)

The older LP standard basses were close...but when they were around (iirc) they were darn pricey..The double cuts (imho) were a good idea but body was too small and the finishes didn't match the brand...again just my opinion :)

while I am at it...I would like this fictional bass with:

Fully adjustable bridge (perhaps a heavy one to aid in balance)
1.65ish nut
Better balance than the Double Cut...bigger body for sure.
Graphite Reinforced truss?
'Gibsony' finishes.... gold-top, 'bursts, TV yellow etc.
well thought out case
straplocks

oh and a thicker nut, 35inch, single pickup T-Bird too! :bassist:

how about you?

I'd like to see someone other than Henry J running the company! :)

And a faithful re-issue RD Artist.
Thunderbirds I got!

A realistic approach to price. The different price of sg basses according to the color (stain vs cherry red) is beyond ridiculous. They seem to be out of touch with reality and our current world economy. That Grabber bass reissue was also another money grab. (I don't hate Gibson basses at all, but their ownership seem to be a little bit crazy.)

Their iconic guitar shapes for bass: Explorer, Flying V, with improved electronics (as the 80's versions seem to be despised.) The Epiphone versions are great, but "improved" Gbson versions would be sweet.

All discontinued Thunderbird models.

A Moderne bass. :P
