What would you like from Gibson?

EB-3 reissue for sure.
Or a cheaper version of the Grabber bass.

I would fully support an EB-3 reissue. The SG bass just doesn't do it for me... but the EB-3 is something else entirely.

FWIW, Epiphones makes a decent one... but I would really like to see Gibson make one again.

I'm not a Grabber fan, but I would support it anyway. I know a lot of folks like the Grabber and RD.

a correct vintage '63/64 reverse t-bird IV:
w/two mounting screw, nickel plated single coil pickups w/frames
nickel plated bridge and tailpiece (instead of the 3-point bridge)
large reverse kluson tuners

a correct '65/'66 non reverse t-bird IV with the same features listed above.

IMO, they would both be great sellers. i would definitely buy one of each.

Never going to happen- tooling gone for those chrome covers. Low demand for any Gibson bass almost guarantees an off the shelf parts bass- Could do plastic covers ?

They are supposed to reissue a non reverse-

I don't know exactly what Gibson is going to give us. The project has moved from the custom shop to a limited run. I can almost guarentee that the bass will have a TB plus pickup and a three point. I can't help but thinking those of us that own Bachs may be greatly disappointed in Gibson's offering.

Mike Lull told me last week that he's using the same guy that made the original two screw pickup 60's covers to this day, so the mold does exist.

Correct Sir!

I've already retro fitted one of my recent issue 'Birds with Mike's pups, it's an easy mod with great sounding results. I'll be replacing the stock pups in my '89 later this years too.
I know you've got some on order for your BaCH, you won't be disappointed :)

I would like to see a public appology for all the horrific products they came out with in 2009. The Jimi Hendrix starter guitar package (Gibson making Stratocasters with the Hendrix name on it!), the reverse flying V, the Zoot Suit SG, The Dawn Tiger attrocity, the holy Explorer. I would like to see an appology for making the Goth ES175 (Stever Howe plays black metal!) and all the other non-guitarist-influenced marketing blunders they made.

After the air clears I would like to see them make a non-reverse Thunderbird combinging the old and then new. Gone would be the uber-fragile headstocks, neck-heavy bias and the dodgy bridges. These would all be replaced with stuff designed by a circa 2010 committee of people actually interested in making good instruments. Then they could produce these 2010 NR T-birds in all the cool old Dupont colours on the 1960s (Pelham blue etc...) using low-emissions paint and using sustainable timber.
