Maybe TB could add an Endorsing Artist or similar badge to go along with the others like Supporting Member and Commercial and make it mandatory to include info on any affiliations in the user's signature? That would automate the requirement.

I admin on another site and that's what we did. Saved time and grief since it's a private forum for our local IT professionals. And we all (of necessity) have various degrees of commercial relationships with the companies and gear we discuss and argue about.

Computers are great for repetitious work and situations where there are no exceptions. One userspace design concept is: "If it always has to be done without exception and no excuses, then there's no reason for an actual person to be doing it at all. Let the machine do the lifting." ;)

Under $300:
Something used, don't know what until I find it, but 4 of my 5 last bass purchases have all been used and $200 or less. There's a lot of awesome deals to be found in this price range in the used market especially on my Facebook Marketplace(local) which means I get to put my hands on it first before buying.

Everything else in this list, would be new.

$300-$600:
Sire Marcus Miller V3 2nd Generation

$600-$1000:
Sire Marcus Miller P7 2nd Generation (ash)

$1000-$2000:
Lakland Skyline 44-64 GZ Bass Guitar - Translucent Purple

$2000-$3000:

Under 300: Ibanez Micro 5 (would put guitar strings on it for piccolo bass)

$300-$600: fender mustang pj (would put piccolo strings on it)

$600-$1000: Ibanez btb747 7 string

$1000-$2000: Dingwall D-roc 5

$2000-$3000: Dingwall NG3 6 string

Based this on what I already have and basses that might bring something different to the table. Obviously if I included the basses I have I'd just be rambling off a list of the basses I own. The mikro, mustang, and btb 7 would all be for playing alone at the house. Dingwalls would get stage time though.

No worries; and no need to apologize, either. Just a mini-rant, brought on by having to put my Rick 4003 in that category, instead of the one below it. Having to... more often than I think is justified... pay more for something than other people have to, is just the way it is. Not having much to choose from a lot of the time, makes the added expense particularly galling, but... that's Life, I guess... Since I have managed to acquire 23 widely diverse, mostly very nice basses, I suppose I shouldn't complain too much... Rant over...:whistle:

Smaller than that, if the number of lefties who post on Talk Bass to point out that, if they can play right handed, then every lefty should be able to, are any indication. I get the feeling that lefties who actually play anything left handed are a very small market, and lefty bassists are almost an endangered species... :whistle:

;) no, i get it! i've always teased lefties, just for fun, but i absolutely did not know about a "surcharge" --- that's bull- :poop: !

i've been glad that axes/necks/bodies are abundant as right-handed, but not supporting lefties is, in and of itself, kind of left-handed, right? :laugh:


all aside: every time i see offers for left-handed axes/parts = it strikes me as: the choices are more limited than what the majority of us are used to....and then i go about my right-handed business. i think your rant is justified! :thumbsup:
