What would you purchase in various price ranges

I build my own - somewhere between $1000 and $1500 goes out to Warmoth, Hipshot, Nordstrand, and a few others (including the local Lowes for finishing supplies), and voila... a month or two later, a new bass is born, which is exactly what I wanted - every single part is exactly what I want.

Under $300.00 let somebody else deal with this stufff
$300.00 to $600.00- Schecter Stiletto Elite 5 String Through, I have two.
$600 on up Schecter Custom Shop, working on it.

$2000-$3000:

Above that range, you're mostly in boutique range where they're all great but in different ways. Go with new prices. If someone wants used, they can look in the next bracket up. Exclude shipping and taxes, USD to make it easier to categorize.

Under $300: Nothing
$300-$600: G&L Tribute SB-2
$600-$1000: Gretsch G5440LS Hollowbody
$1000-$2000: G&L SB-2
$2000-$3000: MusicMan Sterling 4HH

Add up all the numbers and there's a 56 Fender P-Bass in there somewhere!

I only buy between $700 and $1300.

$1500 is a stretch but I'd do it for something special.

I'd get a ric or an American fender. I can get either in all price ranges listed.

now, If I could get ONly ONE bass in any price range , I'd buy a squier VM or CS. Those are simply fantástic.

$1600 - $2000. Kiesel LB70.

Above $2,000. My own build.

Well I'll play along let's see:
Under $300: Gretsch Jr. Jet why not?
$300-$600: Jackson CBXNT V for a backup V
$600-$1000: Some form of Fender Jazz Bass
$1000-$2000: Gibson Thunderbird
$2000-$3000: This price point for me is not usable since after a sub $2000 Fender or Gibson I would go custom shop so it would have to be a BC Rich Mockingbird for about $3600 or a Lull T4

$2000-$3000: EBMM Sting Ray Special

1000-2000: G&L L-2000 (this may be the category that happens next, in which case a fretless Maruszczyk Elwood)
2000-3000: Rickenbacker 4003 or Cataldo

With having 18 basses and still some GAS, most of my purchases would be in the 1k-2k range. I left out a lot of choices just to simplify this.
