Went to see The Holdovers last night. It is much better than the trailers imply.
A couple of my friends have given similar reviews, so we will definitely see it at some point. This is the best movie I've seen in years. Nothing took me out of the story. One of the best I've ever seen. I wasn't expecting it. The characters were real and relatable. The story was real and heartwarming and unpredictable with a small cast of perfectly established characters. My only fear as the story went on was that the ending would suck, and it didnt. Go see this movie. It's delightful. It's not sappy or pretentious. It's not full of itself or up its own ass like so many Oscar bait movies. It was great. You should see it. I cried at least twice. Like a baby. Like a fat, hungry baby. It was amazing.
