I'd never heard of this version. Thank you much for posting this. I'll be hunting for it.
Here's an explanation from Wikipedia as to why the same sets were used. Seems it was standard practice for Hollywood studios, when 'talky' films were replacing earlier silent films, to get their films into foreign country markets.:
In the late 1920s, Hollywood studios depended on the successful exportation of their films to other countries. While silent films could easily be sold to other countries, sound film could not. By 1928, the preferred approach to the foreign-language market was to develop more than one version of a film using the same script, sets and costumes of the English-language original, but employing different actors who could speak the languages such as French, Spanish or German.

Since we never watched it when it was on, "Freaks and Geeks". Honestly it's kind of 'meh' so far. We'll give it a few more episodes.
Caught an old Laurel and Hardy film from 1934, March of the Wooden Soldiers. Laurel and Hardy are my least favorite comedians from that era, but as a kid, I loved this Christmas time movie. It's been many decades since last viewing. Nostalgia trips are cool LOL.
Cable TV, on CBS, just started running the UK series sitcom version of Ghosts. Almost ordered the DVD awhile back. Enjoying it as much as the American version.
Watched one of the better sci-fi movies I've seen in a long time. Aniara. 2018 Swedish-Danish film. Concerns mass migration off a devastated Earth to off-world colonies. Aniara is one of the ships, huge, carrying many thousands of people on a routine 3 week journey, in luxury liner type style, to a Mars colony. Debris smacked it and sent it on a one-way trip outbound. The entire story is aboard the ship as their society breaks down over much time. Thoughtfully executed, melancholic, just very well done story in my opinion. One of those movies that stuck with me afterward.
I got a line on the Spanish speaking version of 1931 Dracula. It's in Amazon and is one of many Dracula related films in their Dracula - The Legacy Collection 2 disc set. Going on my Christmas wish list.

"The Age of Nature: Awakening" on PBS.
The segment about China's massive land and habitat restoration project is particularly awesome (and that's not a word I throw around lightly) and inspiring. Most of it was done by ordinary citizens with shovels.

Just got out of a theater after seeing this. Beware it’s rated R and I wouldn’t take kids to see it. I mean, I found it interesting, but it can get frightening somewhat graphic for some.
I saw the Hunger Games movie. It wasn't good. Boring story. Boring characters. Napoleon was okay. Looked good. I think a movie like this should be in French. American sounding Napoleon. British sounding Brits. British sounding Russians and Austrians. Godzilla minus 1 was entertaining. Good CGI. Annoying protagonist.

I thought it was going to be just killer robots run amuck, but it's much deeper than that.
Just finished season 1 of The Power on Prime Video. It was recommended by my girlfriends bestie. There is quite a bit of man hate in this thing, but it does raise some interesting what ifs. I will check out season 2 when available.

I remember seeing this and also on reruns in the early 70s. Aside from being astoundingly beautiful and have an amazing voice, no one else could sing “one less egg to fry” with such emotional conviction..
