Whatcha watching?

I hope they make season 3 of Outer Range. There were a few unexpected twists that keep things interesting. Just one question, SPOILERS. The last episode of season 1 has Royals truck all shot up. Season 2 picks up immediately after the events of season 1 and his truck is fine? There were a few smaller continuity issues, but this one just angered me.

I really enjoyed Fury Road but I appreciate character development so maybe I'll like Furiosa? My wife, a Mad Max fan, wasn't impressed with Fury Road but wants to see Furiosa so maybe she'll enjoy it as well?

...

Guess we'll find out.

YMMV but I enjoyed it. Of course, I do agree with Gorn's earlier point that mood at time of viewing any film is a factor. Furiosa is more story driven than Fury Road (which was almost a single extended chase throughout) but there was still great stunt work, etc (though Fury Road is clearly of a higher level in regards to stunts and practical effects work). Still, I thought it was fun (as did my wife).

Watched the Marx Brothers film Day at the Races (1937). Always watch 'em when they come on.

Also watched The Wraith (1986) with Charlie Sheen and Sherilyn Fenn. Hadn't seen that one in many years. Liked it then and was cool to sit thru again. Nice to see a young Sherilyn again, too

Saw this trailer for a Norwegian horror film that kinda interests me. Handling the Undead (2024). Based off a novel written by John Ajvide Lindqvist, who also wrote Let the Right One In (I liked the book and films). The concept reminds of a TV series I watched and loved years ago called The Returned (French and American versions), French version called Les Revenants.

Anyway, Handling the Undead.:

The Coffee Table. I’d read some press saying it was a super disturbing Spanish horror/black comedy and guaranteed to offend, which is my kind of genre. Meh. It would have been a decent short film, but instead, it was too long and took forever to get there. Not for the easily offended, though.

I mean, it is being advertised as an origin story. I think it's fair to assume there would be a bit more story and a bit less action than Fury Road.

Yes, and it clearly dovetails in. Still a lot of good action - just that Fury Road set a crazy bar for that by comparison. As a former '59 Cadillac owner I was happy to see the Gigahorse back.
While I very much enjoyed it, it does appear to be bombing at the box office. I know George Miller had another planned but the odds of that happening may be seriously decreasing.

The Panthers.

Not those Panthers. Polinesean Panthers. Young cast reeking of acting school. But with a story to tell about a pivotal time in my country. Pakeha fella rode the race card all the way to be Prime Minister. Not in season one, but tried it a second time, tore the country in half and accidentally brought down apartheid. New Zealand's Donald Trump. Touches my heart and soul

Piggy Muldoon if you're feeling googlish.

Huh. That's a bummer.

The Reader.
I had not seen this. Very visceral.
The Kate Winslet movie? I saw it in grad school with a few friends and...yeah that's an awkward movie to watch with friends.
