Every time I see that movie, I always think of it as being a bit of a fun romp, and always forget how bleak it gets by the closing credits.
I remember it really standing out amongst war movies of the era, by actually have Germans speaking German, rather than a bunch of Brits, and Americans speaking English, with questionable German accents.
Got to admire Gene Hackman's commitment to doing it the old-fashioned way though, with his hard G for "Gerrrrmans" as his only concession to a Polish accent
Anyway, talking of Dickie Attenborough movies, I noticed Prime currently has "10 Rillington Place" which is a terrific movie, and an outstanding role in his career - it also rounds out the perfect Christmas double bill with "Miracle on 34th street".
Just finished up watching the Yellowstone finale. Mixed feelings...loved some parts...others not so much.
But lets' face it, no finale is ever going to please everybody. Especially when us fans are left wondering which plot line is setting us up for a sequel series or not. IMO, there's way too much opportunity to capitalize on its popularity to allow it just ride off into the sunset. Stay tuned!

Sort of watched "Soylent Green" and "Logan's Run" - well, I had TCM on the TV while I was on my laptop.

There are so many good Superman stories to tell. This doesn't look like one of them.
I was thinking the same thing. Just like Star Wars, there is a ton of source material from which to draw, yet Hollywood refuses to delve into it. I don't understand it.Does the world really need another Superman movie?

Each time I've seen this movie, I've been confused what's going on. The soundtrack is good and it is quite intriguing.... wondering if this is the time I watch it and finally understand it.
