Whatcha watching?

Since we had watched "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning", we finished it out by watching "Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning" this weekend. Even though it was nearly three hours, it never felt like it dragged. A bit predictable, but there are some great action sequences. But I'd really like to know why Tom Cruise insists on running at full speed several times during the movie when a car would be much faster. :D

EDIT: Oh, and Hayley Atwell sure makes anything easier to watch. :)

What was the story? The evil AI was secretly behind every baddy for the last 30 years? Something like that? It was so lazy. When the story is so weak, you can't have a three hour movie. I don't remember any of the earlier plot lines but I don't remember being bored by them either.

I quite enjoyed it.

Far better than the second movie (which looked pretty, but the director didn't really have a handle on any of the things that made the original interesting, dangerous, or prescient).

I guess NIN technically did an exemplary job of the score, because it was mostly invisible / unobtrusive - the few bits that did really stand out, I really liked.

Just bummed that nowhere near me was showing it in IMax 3D (which was definitely a memorable aspect of the second movie).

I enjoyed it too! For whatever reason, the fan service bits didn’t bug me the way they have in other legacy sequels.

Jared Leto still sucks though.

I haven't seen this show you mention, but I have seen a few episodes of that Dateline show. I went back and forth on it, but at the end of the day I felt in my mind that were catching scumbags so whatever means to do that, go for it. I couldn't come up in mind with a 'hey, that's not fair to the guy, they should let him go' scenario.

I don’t think anyone feels that they should have been “let go,” but when you learn that most of the cases on the show were not prosecuted, it calls the ethics of airing the arrests on TV into question.
