This movie is great. 90 minutes of good action. There aren't any massive plot holes or illogical choices. It's creative and fun and really really good.

This movie is great. 90 minutes of good action. There aren't any massive plot holes or illogical choices. It's creative and fun and really really good.
When its 'us' viewing time, re-watching the show 'Castle.' Interesting story lines, she's a Nathan Fillon fan, and Stana Katic is mighty pleasing on my eyes.
When it's "me" watching time, could be anything from a test pattern Indian to classic sci-fi to nothing. Depends on what mood Im in at the moment

With the wife, it's usually Abbott Elementary. We've lived in Philly for over 30 years and one of our daughters went to public school, so it resonates with us in a huge way. And it's hilarious.
On my own, I've been watching Invasion on Apple TV. I started the second season last night. So far I don't think it's as good as the first, but it's all been stage setting, so I realize the main action is coming. Despite middling reviews, I thought the first season was great overall.

My wife and I recently re-watched all four previous seasons of Stranger Things, in order to prime ourselves for season 5 (we're retired, so we have a lot of free time). It was fun re-watching from the beginning. Now we've started to watch season 5 and it's fantastic--so far it's as good as season 1 and is filling in some of the plot holes from previous seasons.
Ari Aster is one messed up dude (ever seen The Strange Thing about the Johnsons?).
We were looking for something to watch last night and decided to give "Playdate" a shot. Although you could tell Alan Ritchson was having a blast with a comedic role, I remembered that Kevin James is terrible. And the script was ridiculous. It needed more Sarah Chalke. Meh.
We're looking forward to this, and maybe we'll rewatch some of the earlier seasons/episodes too. Good idea. We're almost exactly the age of the kids in that show--teenagers in the 1980s--which enhances its appeal.
As for Invasion, I'm now in season 3, and season 2 definitely improved from the first two episodes. So far, having seen two episodes, I think season 3 is excellent. Definitely some conceptual overlap with Stranger Things.

I haven't watch Beau yet. A good friend absolutely hated it so I've been putting it off. He described it as what happens when a decent writer has no editorial oversight at all. Midsommar is one of my favorite movies and I really liked Hereditary, so I've been hesitant to watch Beau.
That's interesting. I guess Apple gave Vince Gilligan a better deal than AMCCarol, they just want you to be happy.

It's definitely a challenging watch, especially at 3 hrs. The first third is great - over the top bonkers and surreal. The rest gets even weirder and tougher to get through. I wouldn't pay extra for it if you can stream it on a platform you already pay for.
Aster seems to be one of the few remaining directors that gets a blank check to do whatever he wants. There aren't many of those left anymore.

Pluribus is great, I've really been enjoying it.
I binged Stranger Things and thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't really have any expectations, so no disappointment. I'm looking forward to the conclusion next month.

I'm 2 episodes in. I'm liking it, but the writing seems to have gotten sloppy compared to the first few seasons. Aside from the whole upside down alternate dimension stuff, there's a lot of things that aren't internally consistent. I really liked the 4th season with the bunker lab and El's back story. So far, this last season isn't grabbing me as much. It's also a shame they couldn't have done the whole series before the kids grew up.
