What's a good amp cab size?

I mainly play deathcore and I'm planning on getting a Darkglass amp. From what I've seen on their website, it comes in 1x12, 2x10, 2x12, and 4x10. What's a good size?

There's only two general rules:
- in terms of loudness, 1x12 is roughly equivalent to 2x10 (and 2x12 roughly equivalent to 4x10)
- Two small cabs (1x12 or 2x10) is more modular than one big can (4x10 or 2x12) because you can bring one for small gigs, and two for big gigs.

Tone wise, it's different for each brand. Some people think that 10 inch cabs are more tight and fast and 12 inch cabs are fuller, but it's not always true, it depends on the designer's tonal goals.

Do they all have speaker outs for an extension cab?
I'd get the most speakers you're able to transport easily AND an amp that can run a second cab.

At least a 2x12 if there's a PA and you just need stage volume.

if you're not in the PA, a 4x10.

Live gigs with a band? If yes, what are the guitarists using for amplification? Will you be running through FOH?

Darkglass 212 is a great cabinet

My .02 cents........if you play "deathcore", 4-10s. Or buy two, 2-10s. Easier to lug around.

I have always equated a single 15" cab closer to volume level of 2X10" drivers. My 12" cab clearly underperforms my 2X10 but has its own uses. My 1X15 comes closer.

Neither of these are options.

I also play deathcore. I like 12's more but depending on the brand/specs they can sound muddy or mid heavy.
10's are what i see the most. Either 1 4x10 or 2 stacked

Some darkglass amps have 2 speaker outs, most have one
This can impact your choice
I have a 2 output amp and the ability to add a second cabinet gives me more options
