This is my main bass case. Cleaning cloth Instrument cable iPad Mini Apple charging cable Beats headphones charging cable Dual port USB charger Clip-on lamp for charts on a dark stage Mints Bag of picks Hex wrenches for bridge Not shown: Beats headphones, strap My second bass just has a strap, cleaning cloth, and instrument cable. I keep the straps on the basses. Makes for fast, safe changes, and I like the different straps with the different basses. What's in your case? Also, anyone else remember Mars Music?
Strap. And I remember Mars Music well...the brainchild of the Circuit City franchise started it. I thought both were great ideas but neither are around anymore.

Circuit City is back, but only online AFAICT. I liked Mars. The one in Austin hired local musicians and felt like a local store, only huge and much better stocked. (They caught grief about their "check your purchases on the way out" policy but that never bothered me.)
I was eternally grateful that they got rid of Ace Music in Florida. Ace Music's salespeople all felt like they were superstars.
Some years ago, there were a couple of those in Atlanta. No idea about the Atlanta marketplace today, except that my favorite small music store is gone.
I have different things in cases. Generally just a cloth, extra picks, adjustment tool that's specific to that bass. Thunderbird cases have the straps. Gig bag has more tools and my main strap, a couple batteries and anything else necessary at the time like extra cables, if one/some are not already at the location.
Strap Wireless set Spare cable as back up Folding wedge to angle a speaker up Clip on tuner 9volt battery and screw driver Felt picks for me assorted picks just in case our guitarist doesn't have a back up. Spare power cable for my amp. Golf pencil and red dry erase marker
Actually it was the CEO of Office Depot (A Guitarist) that started MARS Music. They started in Florida, grew damn near overnight and really over estimated there market share. That’s what killed them. Most of they’re inventory was bought at bankruptcy by musicians friend, Sam ash took over a lot of they’re retail spaces. I used to work for them back in the late 90s, still have Mars Shirts somewhere. I built a bunch of store display controls and also worked in sales. That was an interesting side job.
As for what in my bass case- Strap Cable Wireless TX w/cable Batteries 9v, AA, CR-2032 TC Clip On Tuner Polish Cloth Small Towel Small notebook and sharpie 1/2” gaff tape A few adjustment tools Bag o picks Chunk of foam (mute) Ear Plugs I have another bag full of spare crap and odds and ends, cables, strings, tools, flashlight, etc
2x 3m instrument cables 1x patch cable A small toolkit for emergency repairs Spare 9v battery Any sheet music I might need Ear plugs
Small tuner, 2 instrument cables. I want to keep it light. The extra batteries, repair tool kit, wireless etc all go in backpack
Mine changes on if I am giggin' or practicing. For example, I don't bring marijuana to shows (at least not in my case) but I've typically got something in my HSC for practice.
got a small 'gig bugout bag' stashed inside, can move between gigbags- main strap & backup, 1/4' cable & backup, extra strings, extra 3-ft speaker cab cables (speakon & 1/4"), Snark backup-tuner (for Polytune), fuses for amp, cheap Pyle DI box, backup StrapLocks, batteries (9V, aa, aaa), mag-light, swiss army knife (the Tinker, w/ philips & reg screwdrivers), wirecutters, earplugs, dollar-tree extra reading glasses & sunglasses, black electrical tape, 1/4"-to-xlr adapter, 1/4"-to-mini adapter, small Purell (ultra helpful if you're all already onstage ready to hit but you grabbed some cord with sticky gummy tape residue), some Advil packets, small toothbrush/paste, set of new guitar strings if needed by bandmate, approx $40 cash, & a book of transcriptions for downtime. decades as bandleader & touring has revealed each one of these to be a situation-saver.
Strap only, extras go in this. Apparentley its for a d class amp but it holds most of the odds and sods. I have quite a few basses and they all have there own strap.
