What's in your case besides your bass?

Strap only, extras go in this. Apparentley its for a d class amp but it holds most of the odds and sods.
I have quite a few basses and they all have there own strap.

I prefer to keep my gig bag light, and carry a shoulder bag with:

-cables, essential and backup.
-folding amp wedge
-water bottle
-throat drops, aspirin, ear plugs
-extra mic, strap, strings
-pens and pad
-duct tape (which should really be replaced with gaffers tape)
-small tool kit (leather man, set up wrenches, files, extra tuner, screwdrivers, etc)

I basically keep each bass case stocked with accessories for that particular bass (Strap, cable, tuner, batteries, strings, wireless TX, Etc. Then I have a overall McGiver bag that has about anything you can think of in it. When I’m at home I have strap, cable, tuner, etc that live in practice room all of the time so I don’t have to pull anything from the cases. This eliminates forgetting things when you load up in a hurry. I also have a small bag of bare essential items that stays in truck, just in case.

A Boss TU-3 tuner, 9V. battery or two, fresh set of strings, I have a nice white cable I like, and a new pink Ernie Ball cable that is the worst cable ever made (it resists ALL attempts to get it to lie flat, and is stiffer than a roll of barbed wire.) but it's PINK!

I always gig with the same bass, so it’s 6 or half a dozen for me. I think the water bottle tips the scales requiring a bag... and since I carry it anyway, it’s full of goodies

The second bass is about to be BEAD so I can switch as needed by the song.
And in a pinch, i don’t have to think about anything else, just grab a bass. Or ask my wife to meet me with it for a last minute gig or rehearsal.

I don't want anything in my bass case (hard shell) that can move around and damage the finish on the bass. As a result, the following are the only things other than the bass:

1) Strap
2) Clip-on tuner secured in the storage compartment, or clipped onto the headstock if there's no storage compartment.

I seldom use gig bags for any bass other than my Bronco, which is not a good fit for my other hard cases.

I carry the other every-time use stuff - earplugs, small tool kit, circuit checker, guitar cables - in the soft case for my pedal board. The pedal board has three units mounted: a Korg Pitchblack tuner, Bad Monkey OD (modified) and '63 Fender Reverb pedal.

And I have a separate bag for occasional use stuff like gaffer tape, extra speaker cables, mic cables, guitar cables, AC cords, pocket digital recorder, and anything specific to the occasion. This bag often stays in the car unless I need it.

The SM58 and tuner are there so I don't need to take my leads case to rehearsals (it weighs a ton and I would only use the SM58 and tuner out of it).

Every case has a strap, a cable, a tuner, a spare set of strings, a pencil, a 9V battery, and a bottle opener.

Anything else depends on what gig I’m heading to, but the basics are all pre-loaded.

A wipe down cloth and sometimes a strap and/or straplock appliances. Everything else goes in my "cable bag."

I like to travel very light and usually only take the following in my Mono M80's.

Top pocket:
Polytune clip
Earplugs
Straplocks
Picks
Multi tool
Bottle opener

Bottom pocket:
Aguilar TH500
1/4" cable
Speakon cable
IEC cable
Strings

If I'm touring, I use a Mono Tick attachment that has the same contents as the bottom pocket, minus the amp and with the addition of a power extension cable and a small took kit for string changes and maintenance.

Hand sanitizer, drum key, bandaids, Lara bar, emergency capo for guitar players, extra guitar strings for guitar players, garbage bag, towel, IEC power cable for unprepared people, mic clip, gum...

I carry all of these things because I have done gigs with people who did not have them for whatever reason. You should see what I carry in my emergency gig stash in my car.

My gig bag always has everything I need for a practice, but quite often now has everything I need for a gig.
