What's in your "ManCave"?

There's a short blurb in the December January issue of Motorcyclist about Enduro Fest populated mostly by the Yamaha 2 stroke enduros. My first bike was the Honda 450 scrambler. Now that the bun boys have decided that they like those old Honda CB twins and scramblers are all the rage, I kick myself for selling it to that kid for $125 so long ago.

Kurt

My first bike in 78 was a 72-73 Yamaha 2 stroke Enduro stripped down and converted to an MX... the 1971 CT1C 175cc I'm building will be a street bike built to run on race gas. It should have the same or more power than the 1967 Grand Prix 350 (a 2 stroke too) I'm also working on :D

Honda has made a lot of nice bikes over the years... none of which I have any desire to ride any more. Those bun boys have soiled the brand for me :P

No man cave or corner or anything at all, my stuff is out in the open for all to enjoy. I would love to have my own space, but it's just not in the cards. No big deal on the space, but I do absolutely require a bit of alone time after everyone heads off to bed. Man time for me -- very precious.
This is very well put.

"Man space" isn't always do-able, but I must have at least a little "man time."

I don't really care for the whole 'man/ manly/ be a man' connotation. I prefer to call it Me Time, or in the case of staying home alone at my haus ... Mew Time (we have 5 cats, 2 of which are always in my cave)

The "man" thing is general. Even though anything can be enjoyed by men or women, there are still some things that, generally speaking, appeal to men more than women, and vice versa.

Yeah, I agree. It has an air of addressing the same "problem" those reclaim-your-masculinity movements claim to address. For me, man time has nothing to do with manliness at all, it's just my way of relating to this topic.

While "man-cave" carries a certain connotation, I think you guys - and ladies - know what I meant; a garage, a basement, a shed, a personal space where you get to do your thing. The luckiest of us have an actual studio or at least a well equipped music room. Not me personally but my drummer's crib does that trick pretty well.

Extending that to "me-time" puts me more on the open road than indoors. Matter of fact, it's a nice day out. I dropped my wife off at the SFO airport this morning. She'll be in Costa Rica the whole week. What am I doing inside? Oh yeah, charting a couple songs so I can do them with the correct structure while the rest of the band learns them. Getting the skinny stringers up to speed is a whole 'nuther topic though. :)

I'm very lucky that I have 3 spaces for "my" things... first up, my garage:
Don't mind the mess....my smoking area:

Edit: Again, not sure why Photobucket makes the pictures so small, they are very large on my 17" screen... oh well
